Steemit Learning Challenge - Applications for Season 23 “Learning about textiles ”

I am very excited to have the opportunity to apply to the Steemit Learning Challenge Season 23.This season I am trying to come up with something new.I hope it will be useful and educational for everyone, and at the same time it will provide the right amount of education along with great practice for me as well.

I am talking about myself.

My Steemit ID name is @sheikhtuhin. I live in Bangladesh.I am a textile engineer but it is not yet complete. I am in my final year of studies and research.However, after gaining practical experience working in textile factories for a year, I expressed my interest in studying textiles.And I came to the textile sector to get hands-on training. I am already in my seventh semester and my institute life will end in the next four months.And here my average GPA for each semester is 3.97 (out of 4.00).I'm only expressing interest in this learning challenge application because I haven't noticed anything related to clothing here yet.I am hopeful that many people will gain some experience about textiles through this topic, which is why I am interested in this work.

• I worked efficiently in the textile industry for a year in the textile sector and in a garment factory for 6 months.

• During my student life, I acquired the right knowledge by operating machinery in the institute's labs.

• I have tried to teach juniors well by giving private lessons and attending classes, but I have been fairly successful and have also achieved first class results in the exams.

• Starting from the main raw material fiber for making textile materials, to the production of yarn, the production of cloth, the dyeing of cloth, and the production of clothes in the garment sector from cloth.I have learned everything in detail, even gained first-hand knowledge about testing, and have seen it done many times in person.

I will mention the lessons for the first three weeks here, and I will link them to my order for the first three weeks.

Week-1: Introduction to textile fibers.

🔲Discuss and define textile fibers.
🔲 Discussion about the types of textile fibers and the qualities of each fiber.
🔲 Not all types of fibers are textile fibers, but textile fibers are included in general fibers. We will discuss what qualities are required to be textile fibers.
🔲 Discussion and practical learning about testing and decision-making on the physical and chemical properties of textile fibers.

🔲 Types of textile fibers and details about each type.

Homework will be:

1.What are textile fibers? Collect five textile fibers and share a selfie with them.

1. Explain why all types of textile fibers are included in general fibers, but not all fibers are included in textile fibers, and as generally as possible.

2. What changes will occur in cotton fibers if you apply which chemical elements to them? Show.And show how cotton fiber undergoes physical changes when burned in fire.

1. Show the difference in physical and chemical changes between artificial and chemical fibers.

Week-2: Man-made and natural fibers.

🔲 Detailed discussion about man-made fibers.
🔲 Discussion about the use of natural fibers and synthetic fibers.
🔲 Discussion about protein fiber and celluloid fiber.
🔲 Step-by-step description of the method for collecting wool and silk fibers.

Homework will be:

1. Write the method of collecting wool fiber and silk fiber and share a picture of this method.

2. Write in detail about what type of fiber nylon is and the physical and chemical changes of nylon.[Table format required]

3. Show the flow chart of manmade fiber production and write in detail about its main raw materials and the steps of the production process.

4. Among textile fibers, which one is the most beneficial for the environment, polyester or cotton, and why?

Week-3: Knowing about yarn

🔲 Knowing about the main raw materials used in making yarn.

🔲 Learn about the sequential flowchart of yarn production.
🔲Details will be given about which yarn is the most popular between carded yarn and combed yarn.
🔲 The method of dyeing yarn will be discussed.
🔲 The method of determining yarn count and how strong a yarn of a certain count will be will be discussed.

Homework will be:

1. What is the name of the output produced by a simplex machine?

2. Write a flowchart for making carded yarn and jute yarn.

3. Write the counting methods of yarn and what is the shape of the yarn if the count is higher in which method?

4. If the hank of carding sliver is 0.14, what is the weight of 120 yards of sliver? Draw a diagram of a carding machine.
