Hello, greeting friends, How are you doing? I am sure you are all good for me. I am so amazing, which is why I am so excited to participate in this content organized by @steem4bangladesh. I appreciate it for the great topics in "Season of My Country."

How many seasons are there in your country? Which one is your favorite, and why?

Seasons have been seen as a phenomenon caused by the tilt of the earth's axis as it orbits the sun. However, every country has its own seasons, either 2-4 seasons, but here in Nigeria we have two seasons, which are the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season actually occurs from April to October, which is the coldest season, while the dry season occurs from November to March, which is the hottest season in Nigeria.
My favorite season is the rainy season, which is actually good in the sense that farmers will nourish plants, ensuring agricultural productivity and supporting ecosystems for food in the country.

If there was one season you wanted to skip forever, which one would it be? Explain the reason.

Skipping the season is not possible. There are good and bad seasons. If it is possible to skip a season, I will choose the dry season. Why do I choose the dry season? Communities dependent on natural resources may face unrest due to conflicts over water and land resources.Dry seasons cause health issues. It can exacerbate respiratory problems due to increased dust, and it causes air pollution in the community. As a farmer, I don't enjoy planting crops due to the dryness of the land, and nothing can grow without water supply in the soil.

Describe a traditional or special activity that people in your country do during a particular season.

Every country has its own traditional special activity in which people in the community actually participate in a specific season. In the Nigerian south-south region, we believe that March/May is our planning season, which is traditional.

This is a season of planting in which farmers participate in planning all types of crops, like cassava, okra, maize, and others, and the plan will grow healthy due to the richest nature of the soil.I think the reason we chose this tradition, especially for farmers, is because the rainy season can be advantageous for crop planning as it provides essential water, promotes growth, reduces costs, and supports soil fertility. It can also lead to better crop yields and agricultural productivity.

Are there any special foods or drinks that people in your country enjoy most during certain seasons? If so, what is it and why?

Actually, in the Nigerian south-south region, people enjoy a variety of traditional drinks and foods throughout the year, during certain seasons.

In the rainy season, which always takes place from April to October, certain dishes become more prevalent. Foods like starch or garri (cassava flakes) and fish pepper soup are also enjoyed during this time because fish is more readily available. In the drying season", which actually takes place from November to March, seasonal food may take center stage. Like vegetable soup and waterleaf soup, they are popular due to the availability of fresh vegetables. Grilled meat and fish are also enjoyed during this special time.In Nigeria, the South-South region is rich and diverse, with dishes that reflect the region's cultural heritage and natural resources.

I would love to invite @bossj23, @ngoenyi, @ruthjoe and @pandora2010 to participate in this contest.

Hello dear @roselove
It's fascinating to learn about the unique seasons and traditions in Nigeria. The rainy season not only nourishes crops but also fosters community traditions like planting ceremonies. Additionally, the diverse cuisine enjoyed throughout the year showcases the richness of the South-South region's culinary heritage. Good luck to this contest.

Greetings @roselove

You are right, the dry season is the cause of many diseases and affects our health because there is a shortage of water in this season. There is drought due to which our environment deteriorates and pollution is created which is very dangerous for human health.

Hello, without a doubt the extreme dry season causes a lot of damage to crops and water sources, rivers dry up and at this time water becomes more important worldwide. he rainy season is always welcome. As long as the seasons do not become extreme everything is great.

I really enjoy reading your entry, you have explained everything in great detail and to be sincere I enjoyed everything, I have seen in your country you have the best season so far, and one is your favorite. You have explained the reason you chose it and how people make used of this particular season.. wish you success

Yeah you are right, Nigeria we have two seasons which is rainy season which takes place from April to October and dry season from November to March. Your favorite season is the rainy season as it supports agriculture and ecosystems. If you could skip a season, it would be the dry season due to its negative impacts on communities and agriculture.

Thank for your great comment I really appreciate 💘

It's like you really have passion for farming business that is why you you want to get rid of dry season forever if you are given the chance to. Farmers do not enjoy planting during the dry season because they are crops will not yield perfectly compared to rainy season. During the dry season, people do suffer from different ailments caused by dust. It's always hard to find fresh vegetables during the dry season, even if you see one the rate will be high because of the resources used to produce those fresh vegetables.

It is really great to see places like that, farming is popular and I guess a whole lot of people practice it much more
