SEC-S10W4: A Terrible Day of my life

Greetings, my great Steemit community,
Thanks for the privilege to share this sad and terrible experience I ever had in my life

What was the terrible day of your life? What happened to you that day?

The most terrible experience I ever had occurred on August 26th, 2018,

I applied for nursing science at the College of Nursing and Midwifery Lafia, nasarawa state, Nigeria. While I was working in Lagos then.
The distance From Lagos to Nasarawa state is about 500 kilometers journey.

I boarded a bus going to Benue State which is close to nasarawa state since I couldn't get a bus going to nasarawa state direct, the bus started its journey at 5 am from Lagos Park,

The bus was filled with loads than passengers, it was an 18 seater bus but we were only 8 passengers including the driving, it was more of waybills.
So what happened that day was that at every checking point of either customs officers or police officers or drug agency, they will order the driver to park aside for searching and inspection of the goods he is carrying.

This delayed us, instead reaching our destination at least ten hours, that is by 3 pm we are supposed to be in Benue but we spent 16 hours reaching Benue by 9 pm,
So from Benue now am still proceeding to nasarawa state which is now a journey of just an hour and a half we ended up spending 5 hours because there was an armed robbery on the road that day and we just arrive there the wrong time,

Of course, lots of valuable were taken away, phones, money, necklaces from women, and wrist watch from men, it was my first time experiencing a robbery attack and it wasn't easy at all.

Have similar terrible events happened repeatedly in your life? How do you keep yourself away from it if it happens? And do you still shudder when you remember that terrible day?

Since then, nothing similar has happened again and I pray that I should not experience such again.

Whenever that memory comes across my mind I do feel bad but now I have learned to deal with it.

What lessons have you learned from that terrible event in your life and what do you want to tell others about it?

That year, after sitting for the entrance examination, I was not among the successful candidates that were shortlisted but I didn't give up,

I still reapply and in 2022 I got admitted and I am now a potential nurse in the making.

What I will like others to learn from these

Please don't give up quickly on your dreams in life no matter the challenges don't give up.
