SEC-S15W1: The Wonder of Science

Greetings to every one of you. I am very much excited to join this engagement and I feel welcomed. Science is one thing that is as old as time. It has been there, waiting for exploitation, even before the existence or creation of man. One thing that is crucial about science is the advancement and better life it has offered humanity. No facet of humanity hasn't felt the impact of science.

▶️ Science has helped build a great civilization. - What is your opinion on this matter?

I in so much support of this, science has really helped build or bring about great civilization.

Indeed I am in support of this assertion here. Science has helped build a great civilization evident in mankind's survival. I will be picking a few areas where for this discussion as this is a limitless area to access its scientific impact relative to civilization.

Taking a close at Transportation as well as the advancement within it, it is crystal clear that science has done marvelously well in giving us what we have today. In the time past, it was difficult, time-consuming, and very stressful for people to move to places. Nowadays, things have taken a different shape, people can, without stress, reach places in a very short space of time.

The emergence of aircraft answered the question and humanity was saved from the shackles of rigorous journeys on donkeys and camels by replacement with cars, trains, speed boats, etc which made journeying more comfortable and fun.

The Internet is another area I want to point out that truly made the world a global village, all thanks to science. Now we can send and receive messages at the speed of light without having to go miles. The internet made it possible, as it offered the needed interconnectedness.

Social media is an internet tool that has helped advance communication and interconnectedness hence its benefits and the joy of using mobile phones cannot be underestimated.

Electricity is another tremendous area where science is evident and has greatly helped humanity. The use of electricity is vast, immeasurable, and unquestionable because there is virtually no sector of human endeavor that doesn't make use of electricity.

From another point of view, light is the beauty of life. Life without light is tantamount to being blind and beyond doubt, light is the central force that empowers our daily activities and the bedrock of our access to platforms such as entertainment, the internet, etc.

▶️ How do you think our lives would be if there were no science?

No doubt, life would be extraordinarily difficult. Science is indeed the reason every human is surviving, the transportation system, communication, construction, production, commerce, entertainment, broadcast, etc, are all dependent on science.

The appliances and gadgets we use at home, office, churches, and so on are products of science. Directly, our depends on science, and therefore science isn't there, life will not be worth living.

Think of the joy and fun derived from being and interacting with friends or family members on social media, the excitement and amusement gotten from social media, and the online engagements that put some cash in our pockets, all these are there just because of science, imagine we don't have them.

▶️ If you could ask a famous scientist one question, who would it be, and what would you ask?

Although I am not too science-inclined there is one scientific theory that has always given me thoughts and I guess this is an opportunity to address it.

Georges Lemaître a priest of the Catholic and a cosmologist proposed a theory that today is almost accepted by every astronomer. The theory known as "The Big Bang Theory" states that "The expansion of the observable universe began with the explosion of a single particle at a definite point in time".

The question I would love to ask concerning this theory would be; what forces were behind the explosion and what particle was that?

I really don’t know if I have the mental and academic capacity to comprehend his answer. Thinking about it already makes me a little nervous.

▶️ Share three amazing science discoveries that make our lives easier.
