A special day of the Muslim community is the holy Shab-E-Barat. On this day besides Nafal Ibadah we make and distribute Ruti and halwa during the day .So I made two halwa on the occasion of special day. And on this day specials include Halua semolina, Chana dal halwa/barfi, and carrot barfi etc.
I usually make this halwa the night before so that the pressure of the whole day's work is a little less on the day of Shab-E-Barat, and I can worship in the way of Allah.
A popular halwa on Shab-E-Barat is Chana dal halwa/barfi and today I shared this halwa recipe with you.
Here are my ingredients to make Chana dal halwa/barfi

Sugar | 1 1/2 cup |
Ghee | 200 gm |
Cardamom | Four to Five |

STEP-1
First I cleaned Chana dal with water and soaked it in water for four hours.After four hours, throw away the water, clean it, wash it off, boil it with half a liter of water, and give it a little pinch of salt.
When the pulses are boiled, after cooling I will grind it in shil Pata/shilnura after cooling.
If I want to blend this Chana dal with water, the dal mixture will become more liquid. In that case, it will take a long time to make halwa, so I pasted it by hand.
Now add ghee to a pan and fry the raisins a little. Then put them in a separate in a bowl, then add more ghee to it and fry them lightly with cardamom, then pour the paste mixture of Chana dal paste into ghee and stir continuously.
I'll thoroughly fry Chana dal paste ghee into it to let an extra flavor of ghee come in. When I see that the water has dried from it, I will add some more ghee and sugar to it and continue stirring. At one point when I shake the halwa and see the water gone from it I will add a little more ghee .
when I see the oil coming out of it the ghee is coming out I will pour it in a bowl and spread the nuts and raisins on top and it is ready. Delicious Chana dal halwa that I have bread for breakfast, the dessert item I can eat as a snake in the afternoon.
When this dessert item cools down I'll cut it into a barfi shape with a knife. And it's ready to eat. I took a selfie and shared a photo with my user ID here. | ![]() |
