Today I am sharing a healthy and tasty recipe for roasted pigeon peas. The pigeon peas are rich in antioxidative properties so it's helping reduce the risk of heart disease by reducing the effects of free radicals. Pigeon pea is rich in fibre and plays a very important role in weight control. Pigeon peas are also rich in Antioxidants, which are very healthy for your health. The interesting thing is that these pigeon peas I have cultivated in my garden. So I'm very happy to share the roasted pigeon peas cooking process with you.
Ingredients: | Quantity: |
Pigeon peas | 350 gram |
Tomato | 1 Medium |
Onion | 1 medium |
Garlic | 1 medium |
Green chilli | 2-3 |
Red chilli powder | ÂŊ teaspoon |
Turmeric powder | ÂŊ teaspoon |
Coriander powder | ÂŊ teaspoon |
Salt | 1 teaspoon |
Cooking Oil | 2 teaspoon |
In the first step, I went to my garden and collected many pigeon peas.
In this step, I peeled all the pigeon peas, washed them well, and put them on a plate.
In this step, I boiled all the pigeon peas in a frying pan with two cups of water and one teaspoon of salt for about five minutes.
In this step, lightly fry onion, garlic, and green chillies in oil in a fry pan.
In this step, once the onions and garlic are lightly fried, add a little water and all the spices, and again fry for two minutes.
In this step, add boiled pigeon peas to the fried masala.
In this step, I finally finished my cooking and served it by adding tomatoes along with pigeon peas.
The leaves and roots of Pigeon peas are used Medicinally around the world. Specially the leaves of this plant are used as a treatment for coughs, stomach problems, diarrhoea, sores, wounds, and itching. I have been roasting pigeon peas using very few spices and trying to keep their nutrients and qualities balanced.
