SEC-S10W3: Teamwork Makes The Dream Work

The tendency to work in groups is very old. If you look at the history of human civilization, you can see that since ancient times, people have worked in groups, be it hunting or farming.

A famous quote on teamwork

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is a success.” Henry Ford.

Teamwork is when two or more people come together for a task and work towards a common goal. "Teamwork makes the dream work" By this line I understand that many of us have special dreams that we can never do alone but when we start working as a team, success is inevitable. No great success in the world has come from a single effort so it shows how important teamwork is.

Online Team Work:

I don't have much experience in online teamwork. All that is left is that our team leader gave us a topic on which we were asked to make a presentation and present it online. We put our own little works together to make a beautiful presentation. That’s all.

Offline Team Work:

I have a lot of experience in offline teamwork. Currently, I work with special children in a special school where individualized education is not provided like in normal schools. We have to work as a team here. Our team includes special educators, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

When a child is first brought to our school I speak to the Guardian first. First I gathered information about the child's family and parents and decide which teachers and specialists to assess the child. I send the child along with his parents to a special educator first.

He talks to the child and his parents and makes an assessment. The child and parents are then referred to physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists in turn. They all talk and make an assessment of the child based on their experience and submit the report to me.

After seeing the report, based on the child's age and his problem, I first ask him to keep the child in the ECDP (Early Child Development Programme) section for a week. There for a week we observe and send the child to the appropriate class. From there the efforts to help him according to his problem started. This is how we as a team help a special child return to his normal life.

Working in a team is bound to face some problems. In my line of work, when the evaluation reports of my four experts are submitted to me, sometimes there is some inconsistency in their opinions. Then by having a meeting with them and respecting everyone's opinion, we try to find a very good solution.

In fact, in teamwork you have to give importance to the opinion of each member, otherwise, you will not be able to form a successful team and will never achieve the target of teamwork.

According to me, the individual alone is enough for small successes at the individual level. But when we dream big, teamwork is essential. You can do ten times more with a team than you can do with your brain alone. Every job has its pros and cons. Teamwork also has some disadvantages but the advantages of teamwork are so much that those disadvantages can be overcome very easily.

From ancient times to the present there is no substitute for teamwork. You can never achieve anything big alone unless someone helps you. So I would say that we all should have a teamwork mindset then only we can achieve something good for ourselves and the country.
