Today has been quite a remarkable day full of activity and pleasure in equal measures. The sun rose early to welcome the sunny day packed with various commitments to the community and personal celebrations as well. When I was waking up, the emotions of the day’s events were building up, and thus, I could not remain idle waking up with enthusiasm. Today was not ordinary in every way, it was a special day and actually, my official reception into our women's welfare community despite the fact that I had unofficially been part of the community for a while now.

In the mornings, things have been quite busy. I could recall that I had already planned for this day and made sure all the things were in order. Lavishing my little one and arranging his meals as well as clothing for the day, I took time to prepare myself. Wearing the saree which was the dress appropriate to the occasion, I got a feeling of pride as well as excitement.

The first event of the day was the visit to the community welfare office we are a member of. The president of the committee of the Women Welfare Trust welcomed me cordially she offered me this lovely bouquet. This was a good way of welcoming me from being a voluntary person to an official one in the organization. The added responsibilities are significant bearing in mind that I have a family to cater to but I am willing to work hard and balance my time between home and work.

As the reception ended, people proceeded to the community office to continue the conversations over a cup of coffee and tea. It was a very active and stimulating session where ideas were proposed on how to improve the existing community. During the quite constructive discussions, there was some sort of team satisfaction and joy, which made the process even more unique. after that, we were served some snacks and we had our brunch together.

This I said to the community president as the day progressed and I ensured that I went home. The time was ticking so I removed my clothes and replaced them with a new one then proceeded to the kitchen. The chicken roast, kebabs, and beef which were cooked the previous evening were ready for some final dressing. My cooking was, therefore, done before the afternoon and after that, I had some little time before the evening entertainment.

It was a very busy evening and it was over so soon. My home suddenly lives with people arriving, full of laughter and conversation. We accompanied and savored the meal I had prepared with much attention. The dessert was the point of the dinner – my husband prepared a splendid creamy cheesecake, and I tried a lovely tiramisu. This would assure my guests, their satisfaction as well as the appreciation they gave to the culinary efforts we put in the evening to make it memorable.

Our guests finally left after the close of the night at exactly twelve therefore closing the day by leaving a satisfying feeling. The official engagements coupled with pleasures, which are the essence of family have made today, a perfect reflection of community spirit and oneness.
