Betterlife - The Diary Game |03rd December, 2024 | "Community, Connection, and Care: A Day to Remember"
I hope all are you doing well and having a good time. Winter has finally come and with it comes the cool feel in the morning accompanied by warm afternoons. As much as I’m thrilled about these gorgeous winter days, I hope everybody else is too.
I had two programs fixed up with my community people one in the morning and the other in the afternoon today was so special to me. The day begun relatively early as I woke, dressed, groomed myself and prepared to attend the first event of the day.
The morning program was a “Dessert Item Competition” then a small cultural program. I arrived early and as soon as the president of women welfare community, the honorable chief guest arrived, the event was. on Every single participant presented dozens of kinds of sweets – cakes, pancakes, kinds of pitha or other traditional Bangladeshi meals, different kinds of sweets and also some kinds of mouthwatering food.
I was fascinated by attractive presentation and packaging of the foods served and they looked so tempting.. It was all so very systematic and the taste was mind blowing. It was quite challenging to judges the competition because all the deserts where yummy. But the winners had to be declared and after that everyone could yet indulge in even more delicious desserts.
Later on, I was privileged to read out the participants’ names so that they could be given their vouchers by the chief guest. We then proceeded with a beautiful Cultural show whereby we sat together and enjoyed the performances. This time played a perfect role of being able to get the women in our community to be a bit relieved from some of the responsibilities that they are usually forced to carry out and most importantly engage in the celebrations.
After the end of that program, I went back home and spent as much time with my baby as I could. I was a bit taken back when I found that my helping hand Suktara, had already prepared lunch for us on the table not knowing that I had ordered for the food to be prepared. I was much moved and liked her kindness. Because by evening we had some event we prepared for from the afternoon after a good hearty lunch break, and relaxed slightly.
After that i got ready for the afternoon event. The afternoon program was centered on skin care. Since this session was meant for community bhabis we had one of our army bhabis, who is a dermatologist, to do the briefing. It was actually a great learning experience where so many things are to be known about skin care procedures, misconceptions and correct ways of skin care. Next, what do you think, a fun quiz competition was conducted and to my surprise I won a prize!! The feeling of happiness I received was unspeakable.
The last activity of the program was a tea party where we took selfie shots, and the major outcome of the activity was achievement of laugh therapy. It was such a heartwarming event and getting to spend time with my community bhabis was lovely.
That was one of those special days I’ll always remember. The entertaining dessert challenge, the educational skin care session, and all the goofy stages in between were always happy, enlightening, and fun and most of all full of sisterly bonding. I was glad to be reminded about values like people being interconnected, togetherness, people’s focus on some happiness, and support. After that idyllic day, I came home with lot of joy and happy that I was surrounded by such great people.
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
