Mi guitarrista favorito desde siempre ha sido una fuente de inspiración y aprendizaje es el increíble RANDY RHOADS, quien fuese en sus inicios fundador de la banda a partir de 1976 de Quiet Riot y posteriormente en 1980, se une a la banda del maestro de lo oscuro ex vocalista de Black Sabbath el gran OZZY OSBOURNE quien empieza como solista.
Lo curioso y mágico empezó que en la primera audición, Randy toma su guitarra eléctrica y solo con pequeñas frases deja asombrado a Ozzy e inmediatamente empiezan a componer con la condición de que no iba a fusilar o hacer covers de temas de Black Sabbath, porque odiaba a esa banda, pero Ozzy quedó tan maravillado que aceptó no interpretar los temas que no quisiera el joven Randy. El primer LP sería en 1980 llamado Blizzard of Ozz y un segundo LP en 1982 llamado Diary of a Madman.
Lo curioso y lo que me arrastró a que sea mi guitarrista favorito de todos los tiempos, es que fué de los primeros en llevar y combinar la música clásica, lo melancólico y enérgico en un solo climax, tan lleno de sentimientos, en cada tema interpretado que puedes sentir su guitarra llorar o hacerte enfurecer con el claro género del Heavy Metal.
Sumado la vida de excesos que llevaba Ozzy Osbourne de drogas y alcohol, Randy anuncia no seguir en la banda para terminar su título académico de guitarra clásica y porque no soportaba seguir junto a Ozzy en aquellas condiciones.
Entre los viajes de gira en bus, la banda se encamina a un festival en California. En el hotel o sitio de descanso, el chofer esa noche propone darles un paseo en avioneta a Randy y a la maquilladora de la banda, quienes aceptan para que sobrevolaran la ciudad.
Lamentablemente el paseo iría más lejos y sin retorno para el jóven Randy, que con apenas 25 años de edad, la maquilladora y el piloto, se estrellarían sobre una casa sin habitantes afortunadamente. Las autopsias revelaron que el piloto de la aeronave estaba con sobredosis de cocaína en su cuerpo y la licencia que portaba estaba vencida. Dicho evento conmovió al mundo de la música y destrozó por completo a Ozzy, que en su biografía I am Ozzy, escribió que estuvo a punto de dejar para siempre el mundo de la música . Su desaparición física fue el 19 de marzo de 1982.
Randy Rhoads nos dejó el legado de la guitarra más maravillosa jamás interpretada, tanto es así que en el año 2003 la revista Rolling Stones lo situó de N. 36 entre los 100 guitarristas más grandes de todos los tiempos.
Los solos de guitarra de los temas Crazy Train y Mr. Crowley se ubican en la posición 9 y 28, en la lista de los 100 mejores solos de guitarra de la Historia por la revista Guitar World.
Considerado el solo de Mr. Crowley según Time Rock superó el solo de Eruption de Eddie Van Halen y el solo de Highway Star de Richie Blackmore.
De no ser suficiente está actualmente posicionado en el puesto N. 2 de los mejores guitarristas del mundo que tienes que escuchar antes de morir, según la revista Time Rock.
En el año 2006 entra Ozzy Osbourne al Halls of Fame como una de las mejores bandas de Heavy Metal de todos los tiempos y seguido Randy Rhoads como uno de los guitarrista más virtuosos jamás conocidos.

Unfortunately, the walk would go further and with no return for the young Randy, who at just 25 years of age, the makeup artist and the pilot, would fortunately crash on a house without inhabitants. The autopsies revealed that the pilot of the aircraft had an overdose of cocaine on his body and the license he was carrying had expired. This event shocked the world of music and completely destroyed Ozzy so much, that in his biography I am Ozzy, he wrote that he was about to leave the world of music forever. His physical disappearance was on March 19, 1982.
Randy Rhoads left us the legacy of the most wonderful guitar ever played, so much so that in 2003 the Rolling Stones magazine ranked him 36 among the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
The guitar solos of the songs Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley are located in position 9 and 28, in the list of the 100 best guitar solos in History by Guitar World magazine.

Excelente post ! Un guitarrista con un don increíble. Solo para verdaderos amantes, ésto es una muestra de porqué el rock es un estilo musical irrenunciable.

@sergioclanrock que reseña tan buena, a parte que estoy totalmente de acuerdo, el poder, esa guitarra que practicamente habla en "Mr Crowley" y en "Crazy Train" es impresionante. Tengo un amigo que le encanta tambien este guitarrista y siempre intenta esos solos y simplemente es una locura, y es hermoso! Personalmente lo concozco por su trabajos con Ozzy pero no mas de allí, gracias por ilustrarnos con su historia, se nota que te gusta bastante. Saludos

Que hubiera sido de Randy si estuviera aquí todavía. Si eso hizo a corta edad, en estas épocas sería una cosa brutal. Me hubiera gustado que se quedara en Quiet Riot, serían mucho más de lo que fueron en su tiempo.
