Steemit Philippines Contest of the Week: Easy Writing "My Past and Present Christmas Experience"

The Christmas season in the Philippines during the childhood of the 1990s was a time of excitement and anticipation. The entire nation was filled with joy as the days leading up to Christmas were celebrated with family, friends, and neighbors. For many, it was the most wonderful time of the year. Children were especially excited as they anticipated the Christmas season with great enthusiasm. For most, this was a time of exchanging gifts and enjoying the festivities. Decorations were plentiful and colorful, and the streets of Manila were filled with the sound of carols and Christmas songs.

The traditional Christmas tree was an integral part of Christmas celebrations. Families put up a large tree in their homes and decorated it with colorful ornaments, tinsel, and lights. This was a time of gathering around the tree and exchanging gifts. Food was also a major part of the Christmas season in the Philippines. Families would prepare special dishes for the Christmas feast. These included traditional dishes such as lechon, pancit, and bibingka. There were also desserts such as buko pandan, fruit salad, and maja blanca.

Christmas celebrations were also accompanied by religious activities. Families would gather in churches to attend Christmas masses and caroling. Midnight masses were also popular and were usually attended by the entire family.

Christmas is a time to reflect on the past and make memories for the future. It’s a time when traditions are shared, old stories are told, and family and friends come together to celebrate. It’s also a time for the present version of ourselves to look back on our own childhood memories of Christmas and compare those memories with the present. This Christmas, why not encourage your friends on steemit to enter a Christmas essay contest. This contest will ask them to reflect on their childhood memories of Christmas and compare those memories with their current experience of the holiday.

This essay contest will allow you to think about own personal relationship with Christmas. You will also have the opportunity to reflect on the changes that have occurred since your childhood and how those changes have impacted the holiday season. Furthermore, it will give you the chance to think about what makes Christmas special and how you can keep those traditions alive.
