Steemit Philippines Community Minor Contest of the Week: "My most Amazing Christmas Photo" (12-03-2021) : At Canlaon's Light Opening

Hello everyone! It was a bit drizzly last when I decided to buy something on the Street food which is situated beside the City's Community Park. I ordered the favourite tocino BBQ of my grandkids. While waiting for my order, I glanced around. People were coming to and fro and agitated to take a stroll along the sparkling and twinkling lights along the park. We used to live right in front of this park but I just didn't care at all especially when the drums begin to beat till dawn. I don't like noise.

This time, it's different. The surroundings were solemnly quite yet the lights has the booming effect to the eyes of the onlookers. People seemed to content themselves by merely looking at the blinking lights while sitting down on the long bench as the rest took pictures everywhere with their love ones. Actually, I've left my mobile at home and this is just the right time to take shots so I hurriedly went home to pickup my mobile and came back to take these photos.

While the kids find it exciting to take photos inside the decors, the rest at the adjacent street filled their stomachs as they enjoyed looking down at the gallivanting crowd. The previous night were merrier though because there were fireworks so I let my grandson join his friends as they witnessed the first opening of lights.

After taking enough shots, I went to the upper side on the way to our City Hall.

As I passed by the church, I felt the cold wind brushed my cheeks. I guess it's time to go home. I felt a vacuum inside my heart but it's okay. It's okay to cry and feel relieved by just watching the lights. I can see my little kids running along those kids from afar. Now my grandkids has grown too...how time fly so swiftly by! Next year, another generation will be running around the park, with prayers and hoping against hope that everything will soon be back to normal.
