It's Grocery and Wet Market Day - 10/04/2021
The nearest grocery store in our house opens at 9:30 in the morning. Around 10:00 AM I already started preparing myself for my shopping today. It was already around 11:30 in the morning when I got ready to go. Of course, I will never forget the most important things to bring before going out or anywhere. I have my facemask, alcohol and face shield ready for my errands today. I also brought my own eco bag to avoid bringing so much plastic at home.
The store is just about 10 minutes ride away from the house. It was already almost 12:00 in the afternoon when I got there.
This is where I normally go to buy almost everything we need in the house since I took advantage of their reward card. I guess for every 200.00 Pesos worth of groceries, you'll get 1 point. It's not maybe much but if you'll be able to save up your points, it will still be a great help. Plus they also give away freebies of any kind depending on how much the total amount you have paid. They mostly give away, a liter of soda, big bottle of dish washing liquid, a tray of eggs, a kilo of rice, free gift certificates and a lot more.
At the counter, I paid over 1500.00 Pesos which qualifies me for 1 raffle entry. I just got lucky that I got 1 free Summer shirt with that 1 raffle ticket.
Before going home, I had to drop by the nearest Watson's store in the area to get soap for my baby. Unfortunately, it is not available at the grocery store. I should have bought this first before going to the Grocery Store to avoid the hassle of carrying a heavy bag and hopping from one jeepney to another.
Around 4:00 in the afternoon, I went to the wet market to buy some meat, fish and vegetables. I prefer buying them from the wet market since there are several meat and fish stalls that I can choose from and I can guarantee that I can get them fresh and cheaper.
This is where I also buy more spices and vegetables as they are way cheaper as well compared to those from the grocery store. I got shrimp, pork, chicken and fish. Just 1 kilo of each is enough for us for the span of 1 week since it is only me, my husband and our 1 year old kid who are going to consume it . I also took a few eggplant, beans, red bell pepper, spring onions and garlic. Unfortunately, this time I forgot my eco bag, I should not have brought this much plastics from the market.
Yes, these are all that I got from the market. It is indeed a productive Monday. I won't have to worry anymore on what to cook since they are now readily available from our fridge.
I guess this concludes this post for today. I hope you all have a great week ahead. Let us continue to keep safe and healthy.
