Unmeasured Happiness for The First Time

Being a working mom is such an exhausting thing that I should overcome with, day by day. After a tiring day from work, I still need to set aside extra energy for my toddler. I always assure that in spite of a very busy day I will still be able to attain extra activities that are good for his welfare as well as for his development as a toddler. Having a special bond with him once in a while is such a wonderful thing to me that could even relieve me out from stress in spite of him being a little naughty sometimes.

Since IATF has issued a memorandum order that children are allowed to go out and can enter the malls, without any doubt we drove swiftly in one of the biggest mall here in Cebu which is SM Seaside that is located at SRP. We didn't waste any seconds even if we had a tight budget that time just to give our toddler a great experience, something he never had ever since because of the pandemic.

Even though the long ride was tiring and he even slept during the trip, upon our entrance into the mall, he was recharge. I can witness his excitement and delight seeing strange things that he had never seen before. The dazzling lights, the glassy windows, the walls with vivid colors, the giant flickering Christmas trees, the noisy crowd and so many other strange things in the mall had awakened him instantly. I can feel his extreme excitement and he even wanted to walk all by himself, run around, and even say "hello" to those mannequins, thinking that those are true people. I felt pity for my poor little boy that living with that virus gives him a very limited imagination because of the restrictions and limited activities for children. We are surprise seeing children influx into the mall having some fun for the very first time since the pandemic hits. We brought him into the world of fun corner customized for children and let him explore things. Out of his innocent curiosity, he tried all the rides, played all the games and didn't even want to stop to spare some other children for a try. We felt hungry and went to the food court to order some food, we brought extra rice so that we could spend just a little.

After the very satisfying meal that we have shared, we went to the rooftop of the mall were we can find the amusing sky park. We were blessed with fear weather that is why the place is humid and very relaxing. The innocent little boy continue exploring things out when suddenly water in the fountains came out and all the children there included him had rejoicing and waded in the water that is coming from the fountains. The fun from the water has ended then, we change his clothing but still his being aggressive and unstoppable. He is not still drained after all and keep on running around and playing with other kids. So we took him in the playground portion were slides, swings and any other playing stuff was installed. He turns even more energetic, playing here, climbing there just like there's no tomorrow. He enjoy thoroughly playing and exploring that even the tiring activities didn't hinder him to savor each moment. Until we decided to bid goodbye to the place which give him too much fulfillment that even he cannot express the words of appreciation, I know it as a mother that he has enjoyed that moment of his life.

For every working mom out there, always remember you are a super woman. It was a tough responsibility to play the two rules that wasn't easy in any ways but believe me, the situation could transform you into a better and more efficient individual in the community. Annabel Crabb once said, "The obligation for a working mothers is a very precise one: the feeling that one did ought to work as if one did not have children, while raising one's children as if one did not have a job".
