Today I am gonna share to you some healthy information about banana which is always present in our table.
In Philippines we have varieties of bananas such as "saba", "latundan", "lacatan", "cavendish" and "señorita".
Commonly, we always have "lacatan" and "saba" just like today I have captured those two available in the table. The above photo is the "lacatan" that has a firm texture and thick peel with a sweet taste and also aromatic.
"Saba" is a type of banana that is starchy and is now an alternative to rice. Since saba can be used in cooking snacks such as banana cue, maruya, turon and can be added to some dish.
Out of various of bananas, Saba has many different functions such that it can be fried using oil or through boiled water that can be eaten as a rise alternative or a viand. It can also be a processed food such as banana chips.
