Super Typhoon Odette Hits Philippines Leaving A Hundred of Families Homeless||#club75

A powerful typhoon hit the Central Visayas part of the Philippines on Thursday, December 16-2021. Toppling trees, flying galvanized iron, and knocking down power lines, as it ravaged the provinces. On that day my wife called me informing me that the typhoon has already started, the wind and rain are getting stronger. According to the news, signals number 4 to 5 will be about to hit our place in Lapu Lapu City, and every family must be prepared or advised to evacuate to a safer place.

As this happened, my children were scared because our roof started to fly. And I told my wife to just go to our church because it was safer there. I was worried because they were only three at home and I was currently working in Japan. It’s really hard to be away from your family especially in such a situation where your family needs you. I am very worried about my son because my youngest is only 5 years old. This is the first storm he has experienced. The power went out, making the situation even more difficult. My family ran to our church because the wind and rain got worse.

It is a blessing that we are living near our local church and this became the immediate evacuation site. Many families were already there when they arrived. My eldest son prayed together with the families there. Even when their clothes were wet they endured it. I was worried because my children had just experienced this situation.

The strong typhoon lasted for almost 3-4 hours. And the next morning my wife went straight to our house. And this is what she saw. Our roof was ruined and all our belongings were wet. Some of our neighbors had their houses totally destroyed. This is a big challenge, as most people have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

Now, the biggest challenge after this typhoon is the lack of food, water, and medicine supply. Hopefully, the Philippine government will take action and help the people immediately.

I miss my family so much. I feel so drained, until now we have no proper communication yet. I want to know if they are okay if they have food and if they are in good health. Because of anxiety, sometimes I caught myself hallucinating talking to their pictures.

I know these calamities are just a test of our faith. Let us not lose our hope for God is watching us. Surely He will hear our cries.
