Steemit Philippines Diary Game: How we survived from a strong typhoon aftermath while in an ongoing pandemic | @jes88

There is no one who can stop when God poured out His anger to the people. God is merciful but He is a fair judge, too. When He is great in giving rewards, He also knows how to punish or test His creation through His own ways. It is when a super typhoon hit our country a month ago, and still we are experiencing its destruction.

1. Lost of internet connection

This is the first lost when the typhoon just hit our city. There is no contact available to reach our families, friends and relatives. It is hard for us, too, to hear news from the internet since we cannot access internet, too. Until now, though there is an increase of actions such as calling and texting but internet are not yet accessible. Some online jobs are affected and employees cannot report to work and being not paid.

2. Lost of electricity

After the signal cut, electricity power also goes down. Luckily, we had prepared candles already. Since then, a month from now, we are suffering dark nights with candles only and sweat comes touching our skin every now and then. We only relied on the generators provided by our barangay so we can charge our cellphones and laptops for work purposes. We already called the attention of the city electrician to connect our wires but it is unfortunate unanswered yet.

3. Water shortage

Since drinking water in our place needs electricity, we had hard times falling in line to water refilling station who has their generators.

But lucky we are, we had a poso-negro in our house used for bathing, washing and cleaning.

4. Increase of market goods prices

Everyone in our place is really affected even the raw materials and natural resources. It means we only have limited left for everyone to be shared for. But businessmen needs to increase the prices since the demand is high and the product is limited. Foods, hardware, lumber, water, gasoline and any have increase prices compared before the typhoon.

5. Loss of lives and homes

Because of that strong typhoons, big or small houses really affected and destroyed wholely or partially. Nobody escape the strong wind.
There are some family who lost members due to accident during the typhoon. It is uncontrollable and unexpected. I belive some of them are still in the recovering process nowadays.

6. What did we get from the government?

Fortunately, government officials are doing their best to help every members of the society. They provided free charging of cellphones and other chargeable materials for us to be used.
We do received goods and water for temporary survival.

They also take part in dividing financial donations from different offices and fortunately we are one who received financial assitance for the repair of houses.

Conclusions
The global pandemic have been silent for a month because of this recent crisis we faced. But it does not stop to haunt us. Surveys show increasing number of CoVid patients and it never stopped. What makes me thankful is that God has still given me a chance to improve and live more years with my family and love ones. Money can be earned but life is once. Now, I am actively writing to show that I'm blessed with this life God has given amidst different trials and challenges. This has been my diary game for today.
