Diary Game Season 3: July 03, 2021; Rest Mode, Flower Therapy

in Steemit Philippines3 years ago

Hello everyone,

I have another diary to share to you again.

Since today is a Saturday and we don't have any work. Early this morning we dropped off our son for his bike trailing again at Pamulaklakin Forest trail. We arrived at their meet up place around 7:00. After that we headed to our weekend routine which is visiting the farmer's market again. During weekends we always go there to buy some food stocks for the week. Also hubby likes to check out on the second hand stores who sells tools only during weekends. They are not allowed to have their items on display just right beside the street on a weekday. Hubby was able to buy some straps which we can use for our hauling works. He just wants to check-out if there are new tools or something that could be recycled and be used again. He is a handy man so he loves gathering tools adding them to his collection.

While hubby was busy going around one store to another. I went to my favorite mobile vendor who sells very delicious puto and cuchinta. We love eating this food usually for dessert. I love this vendor sells his cuchinta because he puts some Yema spread on top of the cuchinta together with the grated coconut as toppings. Really a delight and truly a comfort food.

Puto cuchinta or kutsinta is a type of steamed rice cake (puto) found throughout the Philippines. It is made from a mixture of tapioca or rice flour, brown sugar and lye, enhanced with yellow food coloring or annatto extract, and steamed in small ramekins. It bears resemblance to the Burmese mont kywe the and Indonesian and Malaysian kuih kosui.

The cooked cakes are topped with fresh grated meat from mature coconut.[1] It is consumed year-round as a merienda or snack, and is frequently sold along with puto. Unlike its counterpart, which has a doughy texture, kutsina has a jelly-like, chewy consistency. It can be also enhanced by adding latik for a sweeter taste.

After buying our favorite comfort food. I went to the Plant vendors first. There were a lot of plants on sale. I took the liberty of snapping some photos of their plants. They were all so lovely. A lot of plantito's and plantita's were also there. Of course all of us observed the safety protocols like the wearing of the masks, face shields and did physical distancing. Everywhere you go police officers and local city staffs are there to monitor if all the safety protocols are met.

Here are some of the photos that I snapped earlier today. There were roses, petunia's, dahlia's, orchids to name a few. Other's I don't know the names of the plants. There were a lot of succulents as well. I love looking at the cactus plants specially the miniatured ones.

Here is a photo of a petunia plant with many blooms. Look at how gorgeous this plant is with this two different colors.

I saw a truckload full of roses with different kinds. It was my first time to see a truck filled with roses. I can't help myself not checking them out. There were big roses and small roses like the pitimini's. I told myself, wow! if only I could bring them all home..... haha. So, I was just happily snapping some photos here and there. No one was there by the truck it was just me. So I had all these beautiful gorgeous ladies to myself. It was like they were saying, Enjoy us and be happy just relax because it is your rest day. I was even talking them. Telling them how lovely they all were and that I want to take them home. They gave me this unexplained happiness. I guess this is what they call flower therapy. They really made me smile. I felt like God was showering me with all of his beautiful creations tp my right and to my left. What a blissful moment it was for me. Thanking God for this magnificent plants that really made my day.

Now this rose really made my jaw drop. This is one of those, my first moments. I have never seen a rose that has two colors on it, like two toned. Look at this. Isn't she a beauty! They call this the variegated rose.

After admiring the roses. I stumbled upon a purple peace lily plant. I have seen the white one's but never this purple kind. Again I had those one of my first moments.

Here is a photo on one of the succulents that I saw as well. Wow! isn't she gorgeous! look at those small beany-like leaves. They look like small fat beans... haha

I saw this red lipstick aglaonema as well. Look at those lovely leaves.

There were still a lot of beautiful flowers and other plants but I have to finish and do some marketing. I bought some vegetables some yellow corn again for our snacks later in the afternoon. Then we headed home. For the rest of the afternoon hubby and I just took a nap because it rained after lunch so the weather was just perfect for an afternoon rest. I call it the "bed weather".

When we woke up in the after noon hubby made some puto or rice cake. He made the unsweetened one. We call it bud-bud in my native dialect but we did not wrap it with banana leaves anymore. Here is a photo of the unsweetened rice cake. Hubby placed it on the oven after done cooking to make it a bit crunchy. That is why it's a bit brown on the top.
This will be for our breakfast tomorrow. I will make some hot chocolate made from pure cacao which I ordered from one of our fellow steemian from Cebu City @me2selah because she sells them online.

Yes po, special po sila lalo na yong cuchinta dahil meron po syang yema spread kasama ng niyog na syang lalong nagpapasarap sa cuchinta. Dinadayo tlaga yong suki namin. Kaya madali syang nakakaubos ng paninda nya. Maraming salamat po.
