Burn Out is a syndrome where one person feels exhausted while performing his job role. This is caused due to excess amount of work stress and anyone can get caught by this. When you are not able to handle the work stress you are more likely to get burned out. Burn Out happens in stages and it can be easily eliminated.

Symptoms of Burn Out
  • First thing is feeling exhausted all the time and not doing the work properly.
  • Negativity towards your job, clients, and even family & friends.
  • Showing of inability to do your job properly.
  • Becoming angry and aggressive.
  • Feeling of being unwell and facing a lack of energy.
  • Headaches, Muscle pain becoming common at the workplace.
  • Change in eating style and sleeping.

Causes of Burn Out
  • Having Too much Work Load can cause Burn Out.
  • Working continuously without taking any Breaks.
  • Not taking care of your Health.
  • Eating unhealthy and Junk food all the time can indirectly lead to Burn Out.
  • Not maintaining Personal Well being and Relationships.
  • Only working and no fun.

The Stages of a Burn Out

At starting of the Burnout Phase. you don't feel anything and then suddenly you experience some stress. this stress leads to Chronic stress and then to Burn out. Frequent Burn Outs mean you really need time to refresh and enjoy your life. Burn Out can be easily eliminated with the practices given Below.

HOW TO DEAL WITH IT
  1. First thing is to admit that you're stressed and get Burn Out. I mean this is no shame you've done hard work and we are humans, not robots. We get Tired.
  2. Start Meditation practices or do some physical exercise. When you're physically strong, you will get mentally strong too, and feel less lethargic.
  3. Have Fun. Just Have fun. Watch a movie, play a game, spend time with family, meet your friends, cook your favorite food or take a day off and have some rest.
  4. Manage your Time Well. When you manage your time well, you actually add time to your day. although we have only 24 hours, if you manage your time well, not only you do more work but also take some time for yourself.
  5. Discuss the problem and suffering with your employer, with a counselor, and with some of your dear ones. Moral support is all you need at this point.

Some other tips would be taking a long holiday to your favorite destination or limiting the use of digital devices, Taking short breaks while working, Doing something new and interesting, etc.

Burn Out faced by my Collegue


My friend Ajit, called me 2 days back and discussed his problems with me. He is a Social Media Manager just like me and I relate to what he went through. His Instagram was not growing and he gave the following Observations -

  • He gets more unfollows than new Followers.
  • It's hard to grow Organically.
  • Lack of views on stories.
  • No engagement on Post.
  • Copying the best work on Ig, no results.
  • Creating highly researched & original work, still no results.
  • Staying consistent becomes a challenge when there is no motivation.
  • Inner circle criticizing of being a loser.

Conclusion


Anyone can get burned out while working and it can happen in the field whether it's engineering or marketing. And One can Overcome this situation in life with some easy exercises and practice.
