Hello and welcome to another sweet edition of the steemit Indian contest. I'm glad to be a part of this contest. It's been a long time. Many of us graduated long ago, while some are still in school. But the fact is we all keep learning. When I was in my first year at a higher institution, I met a high school boy that complained of not understanding a bit from every subject treated at school. I took him through some subjects but he never did well. He eventually dropped out when he wanted to write his passing out exam (Senior school certificate examination). But guess what? He went to an Islamic school and became the best student in Arabic

We all have what we are good at. Throughout high school, I was poor at mathematics, but I became one of the best students when I did my higher degree. The subjects I loved most at that time were chemistry and biology. During the higher degrees, it was Electronic courses. Even though I scored a good grades in my mathematics and further maths, I didn't consider both my favorite

What is my favorite and why

I love chemistry so much because it involves using varieties of chemicals and deals with energy, components, compounds, and so on. And besides, my chemistry teacher (Mr. O.Y.P) proved himself to be a confirmed and certified teacher in the field. He should be regarded as a robotic master of chemistry because he has an explicit way of impacting his students with knowledge without consulting any textbook

My flair for chemistry started mainly when we started learning the elements. While in Junior secondary 3, my integrated science teacher taught us thirteen elements with a song, and it never escaped our minds. The list of the elements are

i. Potassium
ii. Sodium
iii. Calcium
iv. Magnesium
v. Alluminium
vi. Zinc
vii. Iron
Viii. Lead
ix. Hydrogen
x. copper
xi. Mercury
xii. Silver
xiii. Gold

We used these elements to sing as if we are practicing a song for a competition. It became more exciting when we started learning about the periodic table in the senior class. The periodic table comprises chemical elements arranged in a table and they are listed according to their atomic number

I discovered something about chemistry that many people don't seem to know and it has helped me in teaching students to find chemistry difficult successfully

Once a chemistry student don't know the periodic table off-hand, he would find chemistry difficult. It's just like when a math student does not know some basic laws in mathematics. He would find it difficult to solve most math questions because while calculating, many steps from different laws would be encountered and the laws would be used to solve the problems to move from one step to another

There's no how chemistry can exist without those elements in the periodic table. They all have the role they play in nature and the creation of several things we can think of. Chemistry is fun. If you've ever done chemistry, what was it like the first time you wear a lab coat mixing chemicals in a beaker? Isn't it amazing when you discovered that acid can turn blue litmus paper to red and base turns red litmus paper to blue
?

Mixing a few things in the beaker can create amazing colour and flames. Mixtures of some sort can create a gellatinous particles. I saw all these as magic even though it's not and that's one of the reasons I love chemistry. Conducting experiments that can result in something tangible is always going on in chemistry. How did Chadwick discovered neutron in 1932?He conducted an experiment by bombarding Beryllium with alpha particles from the natural radioactive decay of Polonium and neutrons was discovered

Also, chemical equations are fascinating. Understanding electronic configuration of elements bursted my brain and I was very glad to understand how it is used to study the properties of elements as the electrons are arranged at the nucleus of an atom.

Furthermore, did you know how many gases found in the atmosphere? I don't want us to dive deep into the creation of the earth. The chemistry in the big bang theory still remain unclear and over thousand millions of years, there were several chemical reactions that resulted in the formation of the earth. (This is science, so let's leave religion aside)

So this means the impact of chemistry in the formation of the universe is paramount. It also provide us with new solution to things we face in the health care system, food industry, clothings, and so on. In fact, our body system has it's chemistry as explained by doctors. I love chemistry and it was my favorite during my school days. One course that nearly took it's place was electronics because I didn't study chemistry course at the university, but still, the love I have for it keeps ringing in my head till today

Since school days I hate chemistry because it was so difficult for me to understand chemistry and specially learn its formula but by seeing your craze for chemistry I can say that you are a bright student. Wish you best of luck for the results!

Thanks alot. I just believed tend to be good at what we love. I'm sure you will be a genius at your best subject. That's why I gave an instance of the guy that was poor at school subjects but became the best islamic school. I love your approach and I aopreciate your gestures. Thanks once again. One love
