It's a great week for me to start this week's engagement challenge contest here in this noble community on the theme "The experience of surgery or injury by accident".

One of the things that I keep appreciating God for in my life is because since I was born I have never come in contact with any accidents or one strong health issue that will make my parent spend a lot treating me. It's not because I know it all but the grace of my creator has been sufficient in my life to date. But I have witnessed my Aunty and my friend go through the experience. It was easy though but that was the way forward for them to survive.

Tell us what surgery have you or a family member or friends performed and why?

The surgery that was performed on my Aunty was during childbirth, she was pregnant for more than nine-month and when she tried to conceive she was unable to do that due to some complications of the pregnancy according to the doctors. She was in pain and she was unable to sleep for one good month, and she was insisting to give birth by herself.

The doctor told her that she may lose her life and that of the baby in the process so the best option was to go for the C-section. Which was another method of giving birth through a cut. She was left with no option but to accept it. After a day she was prepared for the surgery and behold the doctor did their job well and she came out successful with her new baby girl.

Do you consider surgery the solution to a health problem?

At some point surgery is the solution to some health problems such as my Aunties case and others. If not because of the surgery, she may end up losing her life. At first, she never wanted to go for the surgery because she was scared of the cut. But she was in pain and when the doctor told her she may lose her life that was when she agreed, her husband pleaded with her but she refused.

She was in serious pain but thank God for the doctors who were able to convince her. If not I don't know where she could have been by now. So surgery to some extent has the solution to our health problems.

Have you or a family member or friends suffered an accident that required sutures? Tell us how was it.

Well as for me I have never had an accident before and even my family. But during my secondary school days, we were playing with my friends in our hostels when one of the girls in my hostels mistakenly pushed my friend and she heads her head on the bunk she was seriously bleeding then we rushed her to the school clinic, the injury was so deep so the nurse washed it for her then sutures it for her.

It was very painful even though it was not me passing through the pain but was there and she cried while the nurse was stitching it for her.

When these events exist, which health center do you go to, or simply go to the home remedies, tell us which one you go to!

The best place to go is the hospital or any medical center close to us. As for the incident that happen, both were treated in the hospital and my friend's own was at the school clinic where the owner of the school make sure that all the equipment for the treatment where available.

So to me going to the hospital is the best than going to the home remedies, even though everyone has his choice and knows the one that works for them, but as for me and my family the hospital is the best and more safer.

Conclusion

In conclusion, surgery or injury is not what one wishes for, but sometimes it happens and we can't ask God why the best way to go about it is to contact our doctors and also pray that everything goes well. Doctors can recommend and do their job but the final healing is from our Creator.

I invite @josepha @mjerry and @ishayachris to come and take part in the contest

Thank you...

Thank you very much.

Thank you for sharing your perspective on surgeries and accidents. It's truly a blessing to have avoided major health issues. Your aunt's experience with childbirth surgery highlights how sometimes surgery becomes the necessary solution for health problems. The mention of your friend's injury and the stitches received at the school clinic emphasizes the importance of proper medical care. Hospital treatment indeed offers a safer path. Wishing you continued well-being! 🏥

Greetings @yakspeace, I hope you are doing well.

Going through accident and surgery both are painful process and I pray that we all stay safe.

But there are some health problems like pregnancy where C-section or surgery is the only option because of many reasons.

You mention that your Aunt goes through surgery during childbirth. It is really hard time I know because I have seen my sister in this process.

Happy to see that you and your family is safe from such accidents. And I feel sad for your friend whose head got hit and bleeded. We all must play safely no matter where we are.

However, you have written quality conten and I wish you best of luck for the contest. Stay Blessed :)

C-sections are not a serious issue in Sri Lanka because we have highly qualified doctors for all surgeries. As a result, most Sri Lankan mothers are willing to have a C-section.
