Hello,
My fellow steemians,
I welcome you into a new week of our weekly engagement challenges. And one of this week's topic generated by the Healthy Steem Community is "Importance Of Adequate Sleep".
This is my entry. And it is a must read.😁😁😊

Introduction

Sleep is an important factor in maintaining good overall health and well-being of many living things. In this century, people over work themselves that they either forget or neglect the importance of having a good quality/adequate sleep.

However, there are many benefits of getting enough sleep and there are significant impact on our physical and mental health attached to it.Getting enough sleep improves a persons health and also improves the effectiveness of ones daily activities.

How Much Adequate Amount Of Sleep Is Beneficial For Good Health.

Depending on the age, the amount of sleep required for good health varys on individual base. For example, a new born baby that is between 0-3 months requires 14 - 17 hours of good sleep and an adult of about 25 - 60 years of age should get at least 7-9 hours of good sleep.
Let me make it clearer and more understood by listing out age ranges and the number of hours they need for a good quality sleep.

Old adults (65 years and above): 7-8 hours
Adults(26-64 years): 7-9 hours
Young adults(18-25 years): 7-9 hours
Teenagers(14-17 years): 8-10 hours
School-age children (6-13 years): 9-11 hours
Preschool-age children (3-5 years): 10-13 hours
Toddlers (1-2 years ): 11-14 hours
Infant ( 4- 11 months): 12-15 hours
Newborn (0-3 months): 14-17 hours

It is necessary to note that these guidelines can vary depending on the actual needs of an individual. The hours needed by two different people of the same age range may vary depending on their individual health conditions.

Considering the quality of sleep matters. Because people actually meet these recommended number of hours for their age range but poor sleep quality can affect their overall health and well-being. Factors that determines the quality of sleep may include; Environmental conditions , sleep disorders, sleep interruptions , poor sleeping postures ,etc.

In all, if an individual can understand and meet his or her sleep needs, he or she will show some level of development in maintaining a good health condition. Prioritizing sufficient and good quality sleep improves the overall physical, mental and emotional health of a person . And impact positively on ones daily life.
