A truly facinating aspect of the human anatomy is the skeletal system which is made up of bones of different shape an size. Our bones are basically made up of Collagens and Hydroxyapatite.

Our bones and skeletal system have some crucial functions they perform fo us like providing the framework for the body, allowing it to maintain its shape and providing support for muscles, organs, and tissues. Bones also provide protection for vital organs. The skull houses and protects the brain, eyes and ears. Our lungs and heart are protected by the ribcage.

Without our bones providing structural balance and stability, we will not be able to stand up well and move around. Inside the bones, new red and white blood cells are made. Our bones also store some mineral like calcium and phosphorus while bones like the parathyroid glands in the neck, produce hormones that regulate calcium levels and bone metabolism.

All these functions are vital for our overall health, mobility, and well-being.

These are intentional actions, inaction and habits intended to keep our bones at their best; strong, dense and functioning in the correct shape.

A healty boan is strong enough to perform its function of supporting and protecting, yet flexible enough to handle stress. Is should not get deformed or get bigger or smaller than expected.

Bone health involves the combination of a healthy diet, our choices, regular exercise, staying hydrated, our getting enough sleep and managing stress.
For us to have healthy bones we also need to avoid harmful habits like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption and risky activities in the name of sport.

By paying attention to our lifestyle and choices, we can help maintain optimal bone health and also reduce many risk of bone-related disorders.

To keep our bones healty, we must eat food that contains what our bones need and avoid things containing materials that will affect our bones.

We are to eat cheese and drink milk or yogurt that are very rich in calcium and vitamin D. For your bone's calcium needs, eat Leafy greens vegetables like broccoli, kale, spinach, green and other local vegetables. Nuts and seeds like almonds, sesame seeds, chia seeds are also rich in calcium and magnesium.

You should also eat Fatty fish for omega-3 fatty acids, and meat as a good source of protein and phosphorus.

Foods to avoid in excessive amount
To maintain healthy bones, it's best to limit or avoid the following foods:

Excessive sodium intake can lead to calcium loss, something you dont want to happen because your bones need all the calcium it can have. It is also good to note that too much caffeine consumption can adversely interfere with calcium absorption.
Excessive drinking can harm bone health. Moderation is key.
