Hello my dear Steemians,

At what age do temporary teeth erupt, how many are there and how are they classified?

I do not think we remember the time of our childhood when we received our first tooth, but we might heard from our mother that the very first tooth is usually come up on lower jaw, central incisors and at approximately 6 months, the tooth next to it usually come as second, actually the kids look very cute with such two teeth especially when they laugh. After that it is time for the upper central incisor and later on for lateral incisor between 9 and 13 months.

The next canine appear on upper jaw starting at 16 month and then on lower slightly later. First molar appear on upper jaw at 13 to 19 months and later on lower 17 to 23 months. The second molar will appear on lower jaw first 23 to 31 months and later on lower starting from 25 to 33 months.

What is the importance of keeping temporary teeth in the mouth and avoiding early extractions.

First teeth of children are temporary and sometimes they are called milk teeth, they are small in sizes because children have small jaws and face bones. Still first teeth are there to help to speak and articulate, to keep the muscle of our face in tone and also to help us to chew solid food. The teeth protecting jaws from trauma and also till our facial bones are grown enough to accommodate permanent teeth.

Tell me about your experience with your temporary teeth. Did they fall out on their own or did you have to take them to the dentist to have them extracted?

I do not remember much about my temporary teeth but I can remember that few of them when they started to shake it was annoying because often when I tried to bite on those shaky teeth were shifted and it was very painful. I remember that some of my very shaky teeth I used to twist until they finally fall out. Otherwise I kept all my teeth till it was their time to fall out.

How should temporary teeth be cared for?

Temporary teeth should be cared like permanent:

  • do not eat too much sugar rich food or fizzy sweet drinks

  • no candies or lollipops

  • definitely brush teeth twice a day

I think that is all what I did and I was quite satisfied with the health of my teeth.

I would like to invite following users @dequeen, @memamun, @sitaraindaryas for the contest.

I can say, "You and I are of the same blood." :)
But I've seen my children and grandchildren doing the same thing. They try to loosen the baby tooth to remove it.

I say, "we are all of the same blood"!

It's so true whenever our teeth start to shake it is always annoying and painful, I can still remember using my tongue to push some of them more often so they would fall off quickly 😁
Thanks for sharing your opinion on this contest with us. Best of luck.
