At What Age Do Temporary Teeth Erupt, How Many Are There And How Are They Classified?

Temporary is also known as the Milk teeth/ Baby teeth/Primary teeth. This teeth starts coming out when a baby is 6 months and it continues coming out until a Child is about 3 years of age and the complete Temporary teeth is 20 in number.

Classification of Temporary teeth

They're are classified into

• 8 Incisors which is 4 up and 4 down. They're used in bitting and cutting food.

• 4 Canines, 2 up and 2 down. They're used for tearing Food.

• 8 Molars, 4 up and 4 down. They're used in grinding and crushing food.

What Is The Importance Of Keeping Temporary Teeth In The Mouth And Avoiding Early Tooth Extraction?

• Prevents permanent space
  It helps to prevent permanent space which can evolve if Temporary teeth is removed early.

• Keeps the Jawline in shape
  It helps to keeps the Jawline in Shape and therefore enhance appearance.

• Aids in Speaking
  These Teeth helps in Speech and early extraction of tooth can lead to speaking difficulties.

• Aids in Digestion
  The various classes of teeth helps in masticating of food and thereby leave them in form good for digestion.

Tell Me About Your Experience With Your Temporary Teeth. Did They Fall Out On Their Own Or Did You Have To Take Them To The Dentist To Have Them Extracted?

My Temporary teeth fell out on their own and during that period, I find it quite hard to chew food properly.

  Always brush Temporary teeth with a soft bristle toothbrush.

• Toothpaste
  Always brush Temporary teeth with Fluoride toothpaste which helps to make the teeth strong.

• Child's friendly Toothbrush
  Always use Toothbrush designed for Children.

• Reduce Sugary stuff
  Always reduce the quantity of Sugary stuff you give your children to avoid Toothache.

• Dental Care
  In case of any toothache, take your child to see a Dentist.
