What is Malaria?

Malaria is an Ailment that occurs when an infected Female Anopheles Mosquitoes bites someone. When the Female Anopheles Mosquitoes bites someone, the parasites goes to the bloodstream, then it travels to the Victim's Liver where it multiplies and affects the red blood cells and this is when the Victim starts feeling the Symptoms. It is a thing of concern in the World because so many underdeveloped Countries which has poor Sanitary condition are prone to this illness. According to research, thousands of people die yearly as a result of Malaria.

Mosquito Species that cause Malaria

• Plasmodium falciparum
  This is most severe form of Malaria.

• Plasmodium vivax
  This type is less life threatening than Plasmodium falciparum.

• Plasmodium ovale
  This type is mostly common in West Africa.

• Plasmodium malariae
  This type is also renowned in African Continent.

• Plasmodium knowlesi
  This type is common in Southeast and Asia.

What are the three symptoms of malaria explain it.

• Fever
  This is one of the major Symptoms of Malaria, the Patient usually has high fever.

• Fatigue
  The patient also feels Tiredness and finds it hard to stand for long or do certain things they do on their own initial.

• Headache
  It also comes with terrible headache.

How does malaria affect our lives?

Malaria has lots of Negative Effects on Individuals and some of them includes the following.

• Low Production
  A Patient suffering from Malaria is usually very Tired and can't do anything to contribute to the workforce.

• Low performance in School
  A sick person can't also go to School and even if they go, the person finds it hard to concentrate.

• Cost of Healthcare
  Lots of Money which would have been used for other purposes are spent on Medical Bills.

• Quality of Life
  A sick person is usually in Pains and therefore, the quality of life is affected.

How to prevent malaria?

• Sleeping in treated Mosquito Net
  Always sleep in Mosquito treated Nets to avoid Mosquito bites.

• Clean gutters and Stagnant Water
  These are the major breeding places of Mosquitoes. Make sure they are no Stagnant Water in your Surroundings, also keep Gutters in your Surroundings clean.

• Apply Mosquito repellant
  In case there is no Mosquito treated Nets, apply Repellants to prevent Mosquito bites.

• Clear Bushes
  Bushes are also a breeding place for Mosquitoes. Ensure to clear Bushes in your environment.

• Insecticides
  Spray Insecticides in your Homes to get rid of Mosquitoes.

Treatment of Malaria

• Medications
  Drugs like Arthemeter/ Lumenfantirne, Chloroquine cures Malaria.

• Injection
  Artesunate Injection also cures Malaria.
