Sore Eyes !!!! Have you heard about it? Had it happened to you ? Or Does this sound familiar: that burning, itching, or tired feeling in your eyes, especially after a long day of staring into a computer screen or mobile device? Then you might well have suffered from sore eyes.

Some more common aliases the condition is given include eye strain and eye irritation. It's quite common, these days, what with all the computer time, Smartphone usage, etc. This can therefore lead to irritation, redness, dryness, and even headache. Prevention and relief are nonetheless possible.

What is Sore Eyes?

In simple terms ,Sore eyes really means when our eyes are straining due to the heavy or long time use of it, such as reading for a very long period of time, working at a computer, or even driving or traveling for a long distances. This could be brought to us or manifested by several symptoms, which may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Eye Fatigue: Your eyes feel tired, heavy.

  • Headaches: These could be related but mostly concentrated on the areas around the eyes.
  • Blurred Vision: After long hours on the computers, your vision will tend to blur.
  • Sensitivity to Light: There will be increased sensitivity of the eyes toward light.
What advice can you give to deal with eye strain or irritation? Especially for those who spend a lot of time on screens

I can remember back then, how I will be sitting on a computer to watch six hours of movie's it was really bad and that was when I got some eye problem which I
later treated. So sitting for a long time in front of a computer screen or our mobile phone creates a great need to take precautions, saving your eyes. However Here are some tips or method which I recover that will help us to deal with eye strain and irritation.

  1. 20-20-20 rule: However it might sound a bit funny or mathematical. But I must say it's fun doingit; in every 20 minutes, you take a break and focus on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds while looking away from the computer. Isn't that so smart?? It's the simplest thing and method to help in protecting ours eyes in the world, but it will reduce eye strain to almost nothing.

  2. *Display settings: In our phones we do see brightness adjustment icon. So we have to properly adjust the brightness of our screen to a level that is very comfortable and good for our eyes. However, If it is too bright, it will strain our eyes; if it is too low, you will find yourself squinting and rolling out tears. You can adjust the size and contrast of the text accordingly. All these is to help in protecting our eyes because, eyes is not sold at market.

  3. Blink More Often: Have wonderd why our eyes blinks??!If so know today that blinking lubricates the eyes, hence preventing them from drying out. On the other hand, one tends to blink much less while working on the screens. One can make a conscious effort in that direction.

  1. Artificial Tears: If your eyes feel dry, then use artificial tears or eye drops to keep them lubricated. This may bring an immediate soothing effect and reduce irritation of the eyes.

  2. Computer Glasses: Special computer glasses designed for glare reduction and blocking blue light from screens will make it comfortable for the eyes and decrease the strain while viewing the screen.

  1. Proper Lighting: Always keep your working environment well lighted. It is not good for the eyes to keep working in a dim-light environment. Desk lamps should be used with their settings adjusted for comfort in lighting.
What tips do you have for them?

Long-term health involves taking good care of your eyes. Following are some more ways to keep your eyes healthy, strong and active:

  1. Regular Eye Check-ups: Normally we must try our best even thoe it's hard to visit the eye doctor on a regular basis in order to check up on our vision and health of the eyes. Early detection of a problem will avoid further risk condition or bad eye.

  2. Healthy Diet: The same wey we take care of our skin to look beautiful,we should also take care of our eyes by eating healthy diet full of vitamins and minerals, especially Vitamin A, C, E, and Omega-3 fatty acids, because all these as benefits to the eyes. Add fruits, vegetables, and fish to your diet for great benefits too.
