It a new week guys! A week with fresh opportunities and positive reasons to go hard again. This week would bring us all pleasant surprises in Jesus name. I felt led to start this week's engagement contest with this topic.
I really cannot tell why I feel drawn to this particular topic but then I just have to follow the leading I had to hop in on this contest. So guys enjoy the ride with me, I trust you would find my entry interesting.
In your country, ¿what type of ancient medicine did they perform?
In my country, there are diverse medicine used to treat diverse ailment. A very big thanks to science and technology that has changed the look of things. However, we can't downplay the roles of these ancient medicine.
Most of these medicine worked like magic for our fore fathers, they never had the opportunity for better health care services like we have today, they were only privilege to know some herbs they can put together to cure certain ailment.
And you know God was just so kind to them that these herbs worked exactly the way they wanted them to. In this part of the world we call some of these ancient medicine Agbo. It a kind of concoction mixed up in containers.

It has proven to be potent and worked well for our fore father's. Most of these ancient medicine are still being used today but not like the way it was used then because civilization and modernization has changed the look of things.
Can you give your honest opinion according to your beliefs? (your point of view is valuable to us)
You just requested for my humble opinion about the ancient medicine used in my country. My humble opinion about those ancient medicine is that they are very potent. Our fore fathers were so meticulous in their discoveries such that they had every bit of herb/medicine for every ailment.
But then things have changed... Today's medicine and science has made us realize that some of those things they put together to make those ancient medicine were injurious to our health because Some of them were not properly administered.

Over dosage was kinda the order of the day and some many suffered the effect of poor administration of these medicine. We can't blame them, they were only trying to help and have a breakthrough in medicine
Modern medicine and science has shown us that medication are supposed to be prescribed...showing how they should administer drug so it is not misused by whoever it's prescribed for. This is one of the areas where our fore fathers didn't get it very right.
Can you describe some elements they used at the time? What was the special use of each one?
There were many thing put together to make some of these medicine, they were mostly herbs and leaves. Some of these leaves are still being used today by pharmaceutical firms to make the drugs we use today. Let me highlight some of these drugs.
• Neem: Neem is highly medicinal. The pharmaceutical industry do not joke with neem plant. It has some very potent qualities that make it effective when used for treating ailment such as fever.

• Bitterleaf: just as the name implies, it very bitter when chewed but then has it own potent qualities as well that makes it effective when it get into the body of the sick. Sometime it being combined with milk to supply more blood to the body... according to those who have first hand knowledge about it usage.
• Lemon grass: also very potent, it has a scent similar to that of lemon yet it different from lemon tree. This is used to augment most concoction we call "agbo" in one of the native dialet here. And believe me it works wonders for so many ailment.

• Scent leaf: this leaf has some unique qualities and distinct scent. It helps detoxify the body and make it void of anything that can slow down it functionality. Personally, I make soup with it and consume so much of it so it can perform it wonders in my body and trust me, it highly medicinal and works like fire.

I really do not know what to come up with here but then I wasable to rack my head and came up with this. A picture showing how most of these herbal ancient stuffs are made. As we can see, they are pounded in a small mortal and pestle and preserved dry although Some are mixed together with water for immediathe use.
I cold also remember a personal experience of mine with these ancient medicine, I was much younger them, was just a boy and was struggling with pile.
It was very disturbing, some herbs were mixed together then for me. I had to sit on it and also bath with while it has been cooked hot and poured in a bowl. I did this for many days till I was fine. It gave me a faster result than the modern approach as at then.
Ancient medicine have played a very good role when it comes to health and wholeness. The only challenge we had with the herbalist or native doctors then was that they weren't accurate in their understanding and administration of their findings.
A very big thanks to science and technology that has taken this art to a remarkable new height with a lot of discoveries and accuracy in their research and finding.
