What do you understand by bloating?
To my understanding, Bloating means the feeling of fullness, swelling, or tightness in the abdomen, which is accompanied by pain or discomfort. Bloating happens when the gastrointestinal tract becomes filled with air or gas, which can result from several factors such as; Overeating, gas buildup, digestive issues, food intolerance, hormonal changes and many other various factors.
Distended belly, passing gas, burping, and most time mid to severe discomfort etc are the common symptoms associated with bloating.
Write some causes of bloating.
Below are some of the common causes of bloating;
Dietary Choices:
- Consuming carbohydrate beverages
- Eating gas-producing food such as onions, cabbage, beans, or broccoli.
- Eating too quickly or Overeating
- High-fat or greasy meals that slow digestion.
Swallowed Air
- Talking while eating
- Drinking through a straw
- Sucking on hard candies or chewing gum
Digestive Disorders
- Celiac disease
- Lactose intolerance
- Constipation
- Irritable bowel syndrome
Medical Condition
- Allergies or food intolerances
- Small intestinal bacteria overgrowth
- Gastroesophageal.
Give some home remedies to cure bloating
Below are some home remedies to cure bloating
Ginger Tea: Ginger helps to aid digestion and reduce gas which we can boil fresh ginger slices on water and sip.
Peppermint Tea: This helps to relax the digestive muscles and helps to expel trapped gas.
Warm Lemon Water: Chew a teaspoon of fennel seeds or steep them in hot water to make tea. This helps to reduce gas and bloating.
Physical Activity: Exercise like walking or doing yoga can help move trapped gas through the intestines.
Warm Lemon Water: Drinking warm water lemon can help stimulate digestion and relieve bloating.
Eat Smaller Meals: Eating smaller portions of food frequently can ease digestion and prevent bloating.
