Introduction

Sleep is a lifesaver! Literally speaking, some people are only alive today of sleep, because if not for sleep, there are some people that will literally keep working till the fall and collapse or even die. But when we get to sleep, we get to take break from the busy life and give ourselves some break and after waking up from this exercise (sleep), we do feel refresh and alive and energetic to carry on with whatever it is we are pursuing, indeed, sleep is a lifesaver.
I @jbeecom, am very glad to share my thoughts and experience on this topic/contest. I will share my opinions and personal experience on the topic of Importance of Adequate Sleep

How much adequate amount of sleep is beneficial for good health?

The general and popular belief, is that for a balanced life, one should get at least 8 hours of sleep in a day. This will help the person function effectively with sound health and mind. Unfortunately, most people cannot afford this.
Imagine:

A students who is in the final year but also has to work to support himself/herself and the family.

The young man who has just become a new father and has to work three jobs to be able to provide for his family

The single mother who has to take care of her small children while also trying to hold down a job.
Obviously, it will be hard for the above mentioned people in the scenarios above to get a good night sleep of eight hours. However, that is the required hours to obtain an optimal performance and functioning.

Problems that may cause by lack of sleep.

Lack of sleep could lead to fatigue and mental breakdown in a person.
It could affect the person’s ability to function effectively and have a sound mind.
It could also affect the person’s ability to concentrate or pay attention during the day at work or in school.
For a student, it can affect the academic performance as the students might be sleeping during lectures.
For a worker, it can affect the input/output of the person at work and can lead to business failure.
Lack of sleep can also cause accident if the person is a driver.
There are so many dangers that comes with not having adequate sleep, one must therefore try to get enough sleep to be able to function optimally.

problems that may cause by excess of sleep.

Too much of everything, they say is a disease . The same also applies to too much or excess sleep.
One of the problems of excess sleep is that it will be making the person have a dull mood which can lead to unhappiness or depression if it persist for a long period of time.
Another problem is that it could to obesity because of not doing exercises or activities that could help burn some of the fat.

Conclusion

As much as it is good to sleep, we should be careful not to oversleep as this too could have some dangers that come with it.
