Contest: Dental care
Imagine how someone with dental problem like brown or yellow teeth feels!! No wide smile, shy, can't talk to others in the daytime, mouth odour etc. That kind of moment can really be frustrating but there are solutions to it. Dear friends, taking good care of my teeth means a lot to me. Proper dental hygiene methods keep my teeth and gums healthy and make my smile great, too. Here's how I take care of them every day.
Brushing My Teeth
I begin my day with brushing of my teeth. I use a soft toothbrush and olive toothpaste or oral B. It will also help to provide a shield against teeth diseases and whitening color to my teeth. Proper brushing of the teeth surely lasts for about two minutes, making sure that all surfaces of my teeth are covered. I put my toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to my gums and make use of gentle circular motions for not hurting my mouth. By this, it helps remove plaque and food particles that might cause tooth decay and gum diseases.
Flossing
I then floss after brushing. Flossing is very necessary when it comes to brushing. It helps in removing interstitial, food particles, and plaque between the teeth where toothbrush cannot reach. I take a piece of floss about 18 inches long and wrap most of it around my middle fingers, leaving a few inches to work with. Gently, the floss slides between my teeth; I curve it around each tooth in a "C" shape and then move it up and down. This will help me to keep my gums healthy and also prevent any cavities.
Rinsing
Finally, I rinse my mouth with water. Rinsing helps in removing the remaining food particles in the mouth and with the oral B toothpaste, it will refreshen my breath.
Cleaning the tongue
I also clean my tongue every day. Whenever plaque builds up on my tongue, it tends to develop bad breath and other oral health problems. I will take a tongue scraper or my toothbrush and gently clean my tongue from backward to forward. This keeps my mouth fresh and my breath clean.
Healthy Eating
I also applied a healthy diet in my dental care routine. I always try to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables because they are good for the teeth and gums.Daily I have been always trying to avoid sugary foods and beverages since they may give me cavities. Drinking water throughout the day helps wash away food particles in the mouth and thus maintains hydration in it.
Avoiding Harmful Habits
I do not practice habits that will later damage my teeth. These include smoking and chewing tobacco. These habits encourage gum diseases, tooth decay, and even oral cancer. I also avoid using my teeth on packages or nail biting which may also be harmful to them.
My Nighttime Routine
Later at night before going to bed I always do brushing and flossing my teeth again. This takes care of all deposition of food particles that occurs within the day and plaque formation. At night I clean my teeth because this way bacteria cannot play the trick of causing problems when I am sleeping.
Conclusion
Well, it is a day-in and day-out commitment, but worth it. A good routine in dental care keeps teeth and gums healthy, dental problems avoided, and a bright confident smile. I keep my mouth in great shape by brushing, flossing, rinsing, eating healthy, avoiding habits that may be damaging, and a good nighttime routine.
