What do you eat to stay healthy? How can you improve your diet?

I make sure to eat a combination of foods that cover the different food classes every day. Ordinarily, I would only ever eat rice every day as this is my favorite to eat but then if I only ate those it won't be healthy so I tend to mix it up whenever I can.

I also eat a lot of fruit and vegetables in between meals. Today I had bread and stew for breakfast as I felt sluggish to make anything for myself. The truth remains, cooking can tend to be really stressful and mentally draining.

This afternoon, I had fried rice and friend meat and this is when I wrote this post. My dinner foods tend to be something that has to do with stew or vegetables.


What is your sleeping pattern, and how can you improve it?

If I were, to be honest, I have a very bad sleeping pattern.

I sleep around 00:00 and sometimes even stay awake till 02:00 before I go to bed. However, on rare occasions, I go to bed around 23:00. But these times are not healthy bedtime hours as I usually feel it in the morning whenever I have to get up from bed. I start my mornings feeling very stressed and I'm usually very grumpy too. I'm the Grinch every morning.

I know I have to sleep earlier, say around 21:00 latest if I want to cultivate a healthy sleeping pattern and habit and I am working on it.


What are your daily exercises or activities? Do you need to do more?

I'm a big fan of working out and developing myself and I do a lot of exercises daily to keep this up. Sadly, there is no nearby gym where I stay and the closest gym possible is so far away and would have me spending a ridiculous amount on transport every day just to get there.

I normally use the school gym to workout every day but now at home, I don't have such liberty anymore. To stay fit or to not lose as much gains I make sure I do 150 pushups every day. I do it in bursts of 40 and sometimes 30 and I also do curls at home, although improvised. I use a weighted keg to do this. I fill it with water and try to curl it till failure.

For my legs, I also do squats and walking lunges (without weights). 5 sets of walking lunges usually knock me out cold. I'm very much okay with my workout routine for now as I do not want to exert more physical strain than my body can handle.


What do you do for mental fitness?

Personally, for mental fitness. I cultivate the habit of stimulating myself by learning new things, reading novels, and trying to acquire new skills. I also have to study a lot these days du to my professional exams coming up so I manage to kill two birds with one stone. Study for my exam and also improve my mental fitness.

I also exercise regularly and this can also be helpful in boosting cognitive functions and reducing stress in the long run.

Doppley studies accounting at the University of Lagos and take up a big hobby in writing. Having a good eye for details and description, he loves social blockchains.

His goal on steemit is to make numerous connections with people and put out valuable articles for the steem community to consume and interact with. Basically to be like water, which slips through fingers but is still capable of holding up a ship.

LOL, I know... it feels terrible to start the day early after having a very short night's sleep. You have a great way to find mental fitness, I think reading books is really helpful for the mind and as well as for the brain.
