We all know that human teeth come out twice in life - milk teeth (temporary) and permanent teeth.
🦷At what age do temporary teeth come out, how many are there and how are they classified?
Teething is a natural process. This process starts at the age of about 6 months and continues till the age of 12-14 years. These teeth are divided into two groups:
Temporary teeth (milk teeth): These teeth come out from the age of 6 months to 6 years and are 20 in number.
Permanent teeth: These teeth start coming out from the age of 6 years and come out till the age of 12-14 years. Their number is about 32.
Classification of teeth:
Teeth are divided into four types on the basis of shape and function.
(1)Incisors: These are flat front teeth that work to cut food, their number is 8.
(2) Canines: These are pointed teeth that work to tear food, their number is 4.
(3) Premolars: These teeth work for chewing and grinding. Their number is 8.
(4) Molars: These teeth also work for chewing and grinding. Their number is 12.
Age of eruption of temporary teeth:
The age of eruption of teeth in children varies slightly in every child. In some children, teeth may come out early and in some children, there is a slight delay in eruption of teeth.
Lower incisors come out at the age of 6 to 8 months.
Upper incisors start coming out at the age of 8 to 12 months.
Upper and lower lateral incisors start coming out at the age of 10 to 16 months.
Upper and lower molars start coming out at the age of 16 to 20 months.
Upper and lower incisor teeth come out at the age of 20 to 30 months.
Upper and lower premolars also come out at the age of 24 to 36 months.
If still there is any problem in removing the teeth of children, then we must consult a doctor.
🦷What is the importance of keeping temporary teeth in the mouth and avoiding early removal?
Importance of keeping temporary teeth in the mouth:
Help in chewing food: Temporary teeth help children chew food, which helps them get the necessary nutrients.
Help in language development: Temporary teeth also help children to speak properly.
Space for permanent teeth: Temporary teeth make space for permanent teeth and help them come in the right direction.
Help in jaw development: Temporary teeth help in the correct development of the jaw, which creates space for permanent teeth.
Importance of early removal of temporary teeth:
Space for permanent teeth: If temporary teeth come out before time, then there may be less space for permanent teeth, which may also come in crooked or wrong place.
Risk of gum infection: If temporary teeth come out before time, then the risk of gum infection may increase.
Difficulty in chewing food: If the temporary teeth come out before time, then children may have some difficulty in chewing food.
Problem in language development: If the permanent teeth come out before time, then children start having problems in speaking properly.
🦷Tell me about your experience with your temporary teeth. Did they fall on their own or did you have to go to the dentist for them.
My temporary teeth came out very easily. I remember when my teeth started to shake a little, I used to shake them out with the help of my thumb and anamika finger . 😀
Once or twice my teeth came out while eating food. I did not have to go to any dentist. In fact, I have not had to go to any dentist till date.
🦷How should temporary teeth be taken care of?
It is also very important to take care of temporary teeth.
Cleaning from the beginning of tooth extraction: Cleaning of the first tooth of the child should be started as soon as it comes out. For which we should gently clean the teeth of the children with a soft and clean cloth.
A very soft brush should be used for children's teeth, otherwise small children's teeth should be cleaned with a clean and soft cloth.
Cleaning between the teeth:
Floss should be used to clean between the teeth of children. Avoid eating sweets: I have seen that some parents feed their children a lot of toffees and chocolates, due to which their teeth get cavities. We should not do this. We should give as little chocolates and toffees as possible to our children.
Regular checkup:
If we see any problem in the teeth of children, then we should take them to the dentist from time to time.
Eat clean food and drink as much water as possible:
To keep the teeth of children clean, they should be given a balanced diet. It is very important to encourage them to eat fruits and vegetables. Children should be given water to drink from time to time.

Your experience with your temporary teeth is so related; my own temporary teeth are likely to start shaking or fall out when I'm eating or chewing food too. Just like you, I haven't ever visited a dentist before concerning my teeth, either temporary or permanent; I think we have some things in common 😁, and I thank God for that.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, stay blessed.
Thanks for visiting friend. 😊
Your childhood experience is so relatable, I can still remember those days when I will eat my temporary teeth will fall out ok it own, especially when i am chewing meat or eating corn, and I haven't visited a dentist till date.
Your points are well articulated, thank you for such a beautiful enlightenment. Best of luck to you.
Thank you very much dear, for visiting.
This amazing contest reminded us all of our childhood.😍
