Steemit friends wherever you are, I hope you are always in good health and fine. On this extraordinary occasion I tried to share my understanding in an interesting contest by Mr. @ahsansharif with the theme “Malaria | Malaria Awareness Challenge”. Here I will also invite some other friends such as Mr. @muzack1, @ulfatulrahmah and @yenny47 to participate here.

What is Malaria?

Malaria is a contagious disease caused by the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito. This disease is one of the dangerous diseases that when affected it must be treated immediately by a doctor, otherwise it will make the patient worse to a serious level and cause death if not treated properly. Parasites of the genus Plasmodium are one of the causes of infection. After the patient is bitten by a female Anopheles mosquito, the parasite will enter the patient's body and multiply in the liver before starting to attack the blood cells, leading to fever, chills, fatigue and headache.

What are the three symptoms of malaria and explain.

  • One of them is high fever, in which the patient will experience the suffering of high fever until stages, at the same time the patient will also feel chills and sweat. This is due to parasites that have begun to multiply in red blood cells and cause the release of substances that trigger fever.

  • Patients affected by malaria will automatically experience headaches after malaria spreads into the body, in addition to headaches the patient will also develop a cold.

  • Finally, the patient will experience nausea, fatigue, and vomiting. Patients experience a lack of appetite and digestion such as nausea and vomiting. The effect of no appetite the patient will also feel weakness so that they cannot do activities.

How does malaria affect our lives?

Malaria can have a serious impact on lives, both individually and in society. Individually, the disease can cause severe complications, hamper daily activities, and even be life-threatening. Economically and socially, malaria can reduce work productivity, increase health care costs, and become a burden for countries with high cases, especially in the tropics.

How to prevent malaria?

There are some of the most common ways to prevent malaria, one of which is to prevent mosquito bites by wearing a mosquito net while sleeping. Then cleaning all areas that we think could be mosquito breeding grounds, whether it is in a residential area such as a house or children's playground, or in a work environment, the closest example is puddles or unused containers. Make it a habit to wear closed clothes and use mosquito repellent, especially when doing activities in malaria endemic areas. In the home environment, you should spray insecticides every time. And take malaria prevention drugs when traveling to risky places.

That's the writing I can share in this challenge. Many thanks to all the friends who have come to stop by my post.

Best regards,
@cymolan
