Another Saturday to remember this time. Last week, it was a Saturday to forget. I dwelled in the farm weeding again so as to prepare the farm for the plant growth that would occur during rainy season of which we are. I also conducted dressing or first Aid for the first time in my mom's shop.

I was quite professional though the pictures were restricted to avoid reactions. The day ended with some buzzling activities that stressed me out completely. The narrative is shown below. Every diary game should have one's lifestyle and activities that were managed with time in view.

Morning Activities

Still feel dizzy, weak and sick of malaria 🦟, I couldn't do anything literally. I was just weak despite the medications taken to suppress the general body weakness. It was morning and luckily for me, the light given was extended to the early morning hours. My phone was fully charged.

It was a Saturday to do preparations for the special event we were having today of which my brother and his friend represented the family. Why wasn't I able to? My mom woke up very early in the morning and headed for farm to weed a big plot all by herself because I was ill. My sibling too was having reactions in her eyes so none was able to accompany her to the farm. I gathered myself up with some strength and then went to help her in the farm**.

I can't just allow my mom suffer alone just to provide for us. I needed to extend a helping hand. I was able to reach the farm in time and was shocked to see how far she had gone. She took half of the plot while the other half was left. She was already feeling tired and stressed coupled with the sun's scourge. I motivated her by embarking on wedding the remaining half of which she later joined. The picture below shows how far she went.

This is the other half we were to weed, weeds competing with plants for growth. We had to remove the weeds and allow the plants to grow which includes;

  • maize
  • Cassava
  • Vegetable etc

The picture shows how this weeding was carried out with respect to these crops.

For the maize, I had to remove the weeds around it with my hoe when necessary but mostly handpicking so as not to damage the plant. This is a picture of the weeds growing with the maize PXL_20240323_112936412.PORTRAIT.jpgThis is a picture of the work completed around the maize. Some people do push sands around the maize but we didn't as there are some animals that do upvote crops when they see it in a heap. PXL_20240323_112913155.PORTRAIT.jpg
The Cassava barely grew so we were extra careful when weeding so as not to weed it out. After removing weeds around it, we would push sands round the cassava to aid it's growth PXL_20240323_113004008.PORTRAIT.jpgThis is picture of the cassava before weeding was done. This is a picture of me weeding in the farm. I was motivated with the songs played by my phone and it gave me this added vibes to press on until the work was completed. I told mom not to bother about the weeding as I would help her complete it while she did other planting.

The other crops planted were the okra, corn and cocoyam.PXL_20240323_113239614.PORTRAIT.jpg

After weeding for hours, I felt so exhausted that I took to drinking water for sustenance before completing the remaining portions. We were able to clear the farm successfully although it wasn't that easy as the sun gave its best.

PXL_20240323_113416541.NIGHT.jpg

I then left with mom out of the farm. While she headed home, I headed for her shop and opened it. I did some cleanups so I'll return during the day. While doing the cleanup, a woman rushed it and complained of her finger being cut by a matchet in an attempt to do farm work.

She came to my mom's shop to stop the bleeding. At first, she asked of my mom and I told her I'm the one available and would be able to give her the treatment she deserved in her absence. Reluctantly, she allowed me dress the wound as she was bleeding badly. I used the hand sanitizer first on my hands before touching anything

The first thing I did was to put water into a basin to wash off the leaves she used to control the bleeding in her finger. She shaked off the leaves until it was out. I then offered first Aid treatment by stopping the bleeding before dressing the cut. I applied methylated spirit into the wound using a cotton wool so as to ease the pain.

She couldn't bear the pains from the Ethanol and told me to hold still. I applied it gently until she could no longer feel the pains from the spirit. I then used iodine and savlon** to clean off whatever infection may have entered through the cut.

After dressing, I cleaned her fingers with the spirit, used a dry cotton wool and then plastered it. She felt relieved and was about to leave not until my mom stormed in and saw the patient. She was asked if she should be given tetanus injection as the cut may have been from a blunt object. She refute because of the cost. My mom then administered some drugs to relieve the pain as it was a cut close to her fingernail.

It was my first time dressing a patient's wound. I then left for home to eat and prepare myself for other things. I ate my breakfast by 1pm* as I dislike eating before working. After taking my breakfast, I went online to give my students some contests to write again tomorrow. I did this on my way to cut my hair in a salon in preparation for the special event today.

PXL_20240323_124710031.PORTRAIT.jpg

I reached the salon but didn't see personal barber. I decided to wait as I didn't want to play with his apprentice. The barber came in no time and gave me the best cut I always want. I paid him and left his shop for @udyliciouz shop. I extended my greetings to her and then left to purchase things in the market.

After the purchase, I left for home so I could charge my device and teach my students what they needed to know about steemit and how to navigate it*. I showed two steemians how to create their achievement 1 task and then trained others before going to bed. I created just one content that day but wasn't discouraged.

I also participate in the training undergone in steem4nigeria learning center group on how to build relationships on this platform and avoid steeming in isolation. I learnt a lot but had lots of things to do. I was up till dawn before laying down on the bed.

I really appreciate this comment. I hope I'll not die because of farm work.

It sounds like you had quite a busy and eventful day! From helping out on the farm despite feeling unwell to dressing a wound for the first time, you showed great resilience and skill. Plus, mentoring others on Steemit and participating in training sessions demonstrates your commitment to learning and sharing knowledge. Keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks mannn..... It's not easy sha

The camera shots of your cellphone are good my friend, like I will also buy a cellphone like the one you have.

In addition, your activities as a farmer are also very inspiring, many young people today no longer want to be a farmer, even though I think being a farmer is a very fun thing we take care of plants from the time he becomes a small plant to be able to bear fruit or harvest it makes the heart very happy.
