Dengue is a viral infection caused by mosquitoes biting humans. It is very common in tropical and subtropical areas. Dengue is a life-threatening illness that affects people all over the world in places like Africa, the Americas, and other parts of the world. Although it is not an illness that is transmitted from human to human, but it can be passed to a child through a pregnant woman.
It may not show signs or symptoms in some people, but the symptoms can appear in others. Dengue is a serious illness, and we must take appropriate steps to avoid mosquito bites to prevent endangering our lives.

Like I said earlier, dengue fever does not usually show symptoms. However, if you experience different kinds of signs I stated below, it is important to visit healthcare providers to receive adequate treatment:
Symptoms | Explanation |
---|---|
Headache | This can occur when you feel pain in your head either in the left or right and sometimes in the forehead. |
Bone and joint pain | Patients will start to develop this sign because they will experience body pain in areas connected with bones. Some of them will feel this pain to the extent that they will not be able to do anything. |
Restlessness | The person who experiences this symptom will find it difficult to sleep. Sometimes they may feel tired and weak to carry out their daily tasks. |
Vomiting | This normally happens when you visit the toilet frequently to vomit the food you ate. |
Dengue is a serious sickness that affects most vital organs in our body, especially the liver, as well as internal bleeding. As a result of this problem, it will contribute negatively to our overall wellbeing. Time and money that should be used for productive purposes are instead used in the hospital bed, which will eventually affect our ability to achieve our aims and objectives.
People who are affected by this sickness are not able to concentrate on how to solve some problems, which hinder their progress in life. Dengue fever lowers our life expectancy, which can contribute to child mortality among children.

The following are the prevention measures we must take into consideration to protect ourselves from dengue infection:
People must sleep under well-treated mosquito nets to avoid being bitten by female mosquitoes.
Always close the windows and doors to prevent mosquitoes from entering your house, especially when you are about to sleep at night.
Use mosquito repellent by spraying it on the surfaces of your house. Lotion is also available, which you can apply to your body to prevent mosquitoes bite.
Always wear long clothes that cover most of your body and keep your surroundings clean to prevent more mosquitoes from breeding.
It is necessary to drink a lot of water to help flush away harmful substances. Visit the hospital, get tested, and receive appropriate treatment based on the diagnosis. I would like to invite @saintkelvin17, @huraira50 and @bossj23 to come and Participate in this contest.
