I doubt if the structure of a woman's hair can add to her beauty...

Hello everyone. Welcome to another week with this amazing contest organised by @ruthjoe. I’m glad to share my thought with you through my story.

Have you ever wondered about such a thing?
Recently, I have. Truth is, it depends on how we care for the hair.

At the beginning of the year, I made a resolution to turn my hair back to afro. There was this thing about girls with afro that got me thinking if I was really a girl.

On different social media platforms, I would see various ways on how to care for a smooth and softened natural hair. So I made a decision not to retouch my hair ever again.

We’ll soon call it a wrap this year, and I thought of sharing this journey with you.

I went to the salon whenever I wanted to make my hair, and I ended up almost going home with with tears always.
It was that bad that even to comb the hair was a big problem.

The problem was identified, even before I wnt on that journey. I have always had a hard structure of hair, and so relaxing it made it easier for me.

I could style without much stress, braid, weave, or even fix with ease. But going with the new trend to turning back one’s hair to the natural form robbed me of my peace of mind and happiness.

This was the resolution that could not be sustained for a couple of months, and it said one thing—failure.

Sometimes, we fail not because we do not try something, or because we are inconsistent. But we fail because we fail to take precautions even after identifying a problem.

There are so many reasons for failure in a the journey of life, career, or education. But I’d stick with one of those many reasons just to provide the right context for this story.

About to make my hair

I knew keeping up with the new trend just so I could feel among was going to cost a whole lot from me, but I overlooked it. And if you ask me, I’d gladly call this being "unrealistic."

I see people boast about things that can only be talked about, but not done.

When we finally see the bad result, we become depressed, or discouraged that we never come out well. Truth is, not everything is meant for everyone. So no matter how hard we try to fit in where we do not belong, it will only remain a dream.

Knowing one’s strength and building on it, is the only real thing we can ever do for ourselves. This doesn’t mean we cannot break out and step into a world we can can make the impossible possible.

It only means whatever plans we have in mind should be realistic.

Things we can sacrifice for, have passion for, and be diligent and consistent with are the real thing we should pursue.

It is December already, and I’m super excited to announce that I retouched my hair again for peace to reign in my heart.

How realistic are the plans you make for yourself?

Would like to invite @josepha, @uduak3287 and @ukpono to participate in this contest.

Thanks for reading through.

Thank you for the review, m-fdo.
I'm glad it could resonate with you

Be rest assured, this happened to my junior sister too, she kept afro at the cost of tears each time she combs. Her hair was always looking bushy, she decided to apply all those yeye mixture she saw online, the hair went from bad to worse, it was growing fast and was very coarse in fact you could mistake it for a black iron sponge...... Today she's peaceful with here hair relaxed.

And like you said not everything we see people do is meant for us. This doesn't just apply to hairs but to life in general. Everyone is unique and has his own style. I'm glad you didn't continue in that mistake, but choose to cherish your own unique nature. And now you're looking peaceful and still very beautiful.
