In what ways have you improved in your cooking skills?

I always loved cooking, since I was a child I loved to watch my mother when she was cooking. Maybe one of the reason was that while cooking she was giving me something, like a piece of cabbage, carrots or even onions. I love to taste any fresh vegetables. Time to time I tasted fresh made raw dough and also some dry spaghetti. Since I was a bit grown up I then always volunteered to help first with peeling off the skin of potatoes, carrots and also to cut them into small pieces.
My mother always told me every step, just like she is telling story and showing by doing. Since then I started to read cooking books and also tried to find interesting recipe and surprise my mother.

Explain 5 health benefits of fried food

Fried food is something that I also loved since I was a child:

  • I love fried Brussels, because normally they are a bit bitter, but once you fry them the bitter taste of Brussels are neutralised and they become a bit sweet and soft.

  • Fried food does not require long cooking, because oil having high temperature is good to killing bacteria during short time

  • Fast cooking usually it will take few minutes, especially if you are using wok to fry vegetables and chicken it is just few minutes

  • to preserve vitamins, when we fry then it gives a short time of high temperature that preserves vitamins and nutritional components of food

  • food becomes crusty and delicious

Mention one meal you ate within the week and tell us the health benefits attached to it.

I cooked pesto today because it is something very quick and also very delicious. I usually buy Pesto in a glass ready one from Barilla. I usually cook noodle first, then the pesto sauce will be added into little pot and warmed up and mix a bit of olive oil. Wok will be also warmed up and then I add the noodle, plus pesto and mix everything for about a minute. That is it, the food is ready. When serving I put everything in a bowl, then add a bit of Mozzarella cheese, that usually melts quickly due to hot noodles. The nutritional ingredients olive, oil, garlic, basil and less calories.

Thomas Keller said, "A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe."

When we read recipe we see the words and imaging the ingredients, in our brain we can imagine how approximately it will be looking like and how it should taste and smell. Still, it might be completely different from different people who cook and also may taste for one and not for others because we are different. We can alter the dishes adding our own little things like spices or fresh herbs but also add either butter or oil or maybe Olive oil and often those dishes we can not fry because it can change completely the taste. So having the basis of the recipe we should experiment and give our soul, because of that we still say that for example the Bolognese done by our grandma is the best even better than by real Italian restaurant, maybe because our grandmother has her own secret and also her soul that she added to her dishes.
