Is age a matter of numbers?

Hello my steemian friends and respected ladies,

This is my participation in the contest” Competition: Is age just a matter of numbers? By @fannyescobar in Steem For Ladies

I am sorry to say that this competition is organized only for women, but still I have no hesitation in expressing my feelings in this competition, even if you are not able to select my post in the winner's list. And I suggest you that when all communities do not discriminate between men and women, then it would be injustice to deprive men of participation in such beautiful and fascinating competitions. That is why my suggestion for the future is that we men should also get the opportunity to participate in such competitions in which the feelings of women are not hurt.

1. Is age just a matter of numbers?

This is a very correct statement because no age can stop us from doing anything, if we have self-confidence and passion then we can do any work at any age. And many examples can be given to prove this, but in this competition, I would like to say only this much that many heads of states of the world are handling the command of their countries even in the last stage of their life, no restriction of age can stop them from doing their work. If we have passion then we can do any work at any age. That is why this saying is very appropriate that age is just a number.

2. Do you think that due to age we should be stopped from doing all that we like and are passionate about?

Not at all, we should never stop a person of any age or ourselves from doing any work that he or we like to do due to this reason. The rest depends on the ability of the person whether he can do that work or not. Age cannot be a hindrance in doing any work. Rather I feel that an older person may be physically weak but his experience, patience, and morale only increase his ability even more.

3. Have you ever been made to feel inferior because of your age?

Perhaps in this case I am a very lucky person, no one ever tried to show me that I am an older person and hence I should not do any work which should be done only by a young man or a younger person. Yes, there is one thing which I myself do not like doing now and that is dancing in any function, because earlier I used to like doing this very much, now I am in the second phase of my life, and I have grandson and granddaughter aged 13 and 10 years, so now I give opportunity to my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren to do all this.

4. Are you one of those people who do not like to reveal their age for fear of criticism?

Not at all, I do not like to hide my age at all, and anyway I am never afraid of any criticism, rather I always like critics a lot, because a healthy critic is a good mirror, which helps us to see our shortcomings. And anyway I am proud that I am now almost 65 years old, but by maintaining balance in my health awareness, food and daily routine, I look much younger than my age. So sometimes I enjoy surprising people by telling them my real age, because people who don't know me well guess my age wrongly.

5. Is this a proverb or phrase expressing about age?

"Age is a matter of number" This proverb means that a person's age is just a number that indicates how long he has lived his life, and it does not necessarily define his abilities, personality or worth as a person; rather this proverb suggests us that age is just a number and it should not be the only factor in judging someone's worth. Another proverb in our country INDIA is "Ek Saatha Hi Paatha Hota Hai" meaning a 60 year old person is a real young person.
