This milestone is not just for the community alone; it belongs to all of us who worked tirelessly together towards a common goal, creating contests, writing posts, commenting on the posts of our fellow Steemians, and supporting each other with votes.

As per the contest rules we must share tips. Today we share 5 tips from mistakes we see happening day after day that could stop you from catching those dolphins.

1. Let your headline sell your post!

It is a fact that 80% of users will read the heading but not the rest of the post. Make your heading eye-catching.

2. Don’t follow others with your introduction!

After your heading, your main image and introduction grab attention.
A lot of posts on Steemit start in the same manner. This is either by greeting their fellow Steemians or by greeting the community. Stand out by making your introduction interesting.

3. Tell your story!

It is important to tell your story, not the story you have found on places like Google. People can relate more to what happened in the lives of their fellow Steemians than to loads of information. Yes, often you have to share information, and when you do, make sure it is not too much and that you mention the source.

4. Read ALL the rules of a contest!

Week after week, we see posts that don’t qualify for a contest. Often, these are fantastic posts, but we cannot make them winners. Read the rules before you decide to enter, and once you have written your post, read them again to make sure that you have abided by them all.

5. Check your post!
Always make sure that you are happy with your post before you post it. Ask yourself: Would I like to read a post full of grammar and other mistakes?
Check! Check! Check! You must read your post and check it with a tool like Grammarly before you push that post button.
