WHO IS A NURSE?

Nurse is a profession, aside from being a noble profession it is divided into various categories such as Professional Nurse, Auxiliary Nurse and a Nursing mother.

Responding to the question, who is a Nurse? In general terms, a nurse is a person who care for other people. The people the nurse can care for could be individual of all ages, families, groups, communities, sick or well people and in all settings. Nursing includes the promotion of health and wellbeing, prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people.

In professional terms, a Nurse is a person who has undergone and completed a program of basic, generalized nursing education in an authorized nursing institution or higher institution of learning and is authorized by the appropriate regulatory authority to practice nursing in his or her country.

To every human the first nurse in their life is their mother. Mothers are always thinking of the wellbeing and good health of their children.

If you are a mother, you will agree with me that you do not need to obtain a degree or certificate from any higher institution of learning to nurse your child. Experience has taught me this. You will also agree with me that the task of nursing a child as a first time mum is seriously demanding and a difficult. The task is sometimes made easy if you are fortunate to have mothers and grandmothers around you. Despite how demanding and tasking it might seem the joy of being a mother makes them do their job as if it is a very simple task and make every good mother successful a nurse. For the love of the child with the passion to do their work, most mothers do forget to take care of themselves, especially new mothers.

When their baby or child is ill at the middle of the night, they are awake to think of the solution to the child's ill health. If it is fever, they will deep a napkin in a room temperature water to mop the child's body to maintain the temperature until day break when they can access medical care. They ensure to keep clean and save environment for the child's growth and wellbeing. Ensure timely and constant feeding of clean and healthy meals to the child. Their work in nursing their children is innumerable, the list goes on and on.

Before I had my baby, I used to disrespect my mother in some things, especially when she is unable to do certain things that I expected her to do for me, by the time I asked her she finds excuses to give me. I will be so piece up and tell her why she should not give excuses. Earnestly, I did not understand the weight of my actions until I had my own child. No wonder the Bible says in Ephesians 6:13 "Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth". It was after having the experience as a mother that I began to understand what she was going through. I will live to be ever respectful and appreciative of my mother. In fact, she is my hero. I respect mothers who have 2 to more children and have successfully nurse them to become successful in life. Mother's care for their children without hoping for any reward or salary their service is selfless and highly commendable.

Some mothers after nursing a child to a level of adult that the child is in turn supposed to care and provide for them, they are labelled as witches or abandoned. This is bad, if you are a child that has abandoned your mother and you are lucky that she is still alive, make effort to appreciate and celebrate her no matter how little it might seem. I pray for all mothers in the steem community and across the world that their labour of love in nursing their children shall not be in vain. Their children shall become successful and they shall eat the fruit of their labour.

I also pray for every lady in this steem for ladies community that desires to have the experience of becoming a nursing mother, God shall grant your heart desire. It is a sweet experience and you deserve to have it.

I would have love to write about Professional Nurses but for the want of time. I admire professional Nurses and would have loved to become one but could not due to circumstances beyond my control. I want to encourage sincere and passionate Professional Nurses who are hardworking and diligent to keep the good work of saving lives, caring for the wellbeing of the people in their hospitals. To some bad and wicked nurses, I want to employ them to have a change of attitude and character, they should embrace their profession with passion. God bless all the Nurses in various capacity. Long live Nurses!

I just finished my article about One flew over the Cuckoo's nest so gor thr time being I had it with nurses.

By the way, I never had any trouble raising my children (no family or friends), never felt umsure, perhaps the result of a harsh childhood where I had to care for everyone and everything? For sure in a family with more children where everyone does his share the children growing up have more self-esteem and less drama. At least that is with I see where I live (spoiled, lazy teenagers not even able to use a broom or washing the dishes).

Your photos look lovely and you all are adorable.

Thank you for participating…..
Mothers are a super cool in what they do. When I heard we had men nurses, I wondered how these men are able to cope with the work of taking care because I know the work is more common with women. Experience have taught you so much already. This is one school every woman must go through without a certificate. I wish you all the best

Thank you friend

Nice post. Your post centers on nursing mothers which is another category of nurse. It also tell us how much our mothers took care of us when we were little. I really enjoyed your post. Good luck in the contest

Thank you for entering this week's contest with such a mommy-loving post!
What I've also discovered as a mommy and as I had to nurse my kids is that there is not one manual on the market that can guide you as each of your children is different.

Good luck with the contest!
