Today's Recipe; Dried Squid with Coconut Milk 🧆

This is one of the very interesting recipes and usually we process it using fresh fish. This time I will try to share a recipe on how to process dried squid into a recipe that is suitable to be eaten with warm rice.
As we know, squid is one of the most popular sea fish. This is because of its distinctive taste and delicious processed into anything. But what about dried squid? This squid is removed from the inside and dried for several days until it is very thin and very light like paper. I will process it into Indonesian cuisine.
The first thing we have to do to cook dried squid is to soak it in hot water for about half an hour until the squid meat becomes more fluffy and tender.
The second thing is to prepare all the ingredients for cooking it. I will cook squid "Coconut milk starch".
Ingredients used;
- shallots
- garlic
- dried red chilies
- cayenne pepper
- ginger
- turmeric
- coriander
- tamarind sunti
First, puree all the ingredients until really smooth then set aside.
Second, take the coconut then squeeze the coconut milk.
Third, take some shallots then slice them, cloves and also bay leaves then set aside. This will be the ingredients for stir-frying.
Fourth, heat the cooking oil then add the chopped spices. Saute until fragrant.
Fifth, take the ground spices and put them in. Stir the ground spices until they release their oil or dry. ***
Sixth, after it is dry, add the squid that has been soaked and stir until all the spices are evenly mixed.
Next, add coconut milk little by little. Make sure to stir it slowly and let it boil. Don't forget to add salt and a little sugar. ***
After that, if you want it spicier, add cayenne pepper to the dish. Wait until the coconut milk and spices are absorbed into one and the dried squid with coconut milk starch is ready to be served.
Here is the result. This is cooking dried squid with coconut milk starch. It is very suitable to be eaten with warm rice and also added with chili sauce if there is any. Dried fish is very suitable to be cooked with coconut milk starch like this.
This was my lunch and it was delicious.yes can give 8/10 for the taste. This is because there is a distinctive smell of the sea that is still present in the dried squid and it is a bit strong in my opinion. However, for those who like seafood then this will be perfect. Good luck and enjoy...
