Pregnancy Diary | Visit to the Midwife & Celebrating Brother's Birthday! 🎂

Greetings my lovely friends!

I'm back with the latest chapter of my pregnancy journey. It was a hectic day with a lot of activities from a visit to the midwife, salon work and to a celebration of my elder brother's birthday.

Yesterday marked my second visit to the midwife during this enchanting journey of expecting a little bundle of joy. There were about 20 mothers to be gathered for this meeting. The midwife shared invaluable advice on self-care during this period and emphasized the importance of a balanced diet in order for the baby's growth and development.

With morning sickness some mothers have experienced less apatite to their meals. But as a trick midwife asked us to eat something on the bed before we got up in the morning. As she explained it will help the acidity to settle in our stomach.

In Sri Lanka, this free midwifery care is a government service. The midwives do an excellent job by educating us and even conducting home visits to ensure we have everything in place for the arrival of our little ones. More than a service this is a lifeline of support that encourage us to the journey of motherhood.

The meeting stretched for around three hours. It was very educative to me. We were not only equipped with knowledge but also showered with thoughtful gifts. It warms my heart how people believe in good karma, gifting expecting mothers with meals and care packages. It's a beautiful tradition that adds an extra layer of joy to this miraculous phase of life.

After the meeting, it was off to the salon for a bustling Saturday. My clients were patiently waiting for their beauty sessions, and I couldn't have been more grateful for their understanding.

Around 6.00 pm I gracefully wrapped up my salon commitments because it was time for a simple yet heartwarming birthday dinner celebration for my elder brother. We were the exclusive guests as he preferred a low-key affair. Even though it is just simple I had an evening filled with love, laughter, and delicious food remembering our
past.

And just like that my day faded into the night. We went home with happy feelings! Now here I’m sending you all the love and positive vibes for the coming week.
