WHAT ARE "TABLE MANNERS"? EXPLAIN SOME EXAMPLES
Table manners are the rules of etiquette used while eating and drinking together which may include the use of utensils.
Table manners are a relatively recent invention and is also a rules and regulation we observe while eating and drinking.
SOME EXAMPLES ARE:
Wash your hand: first thing to do before eating, you
have to wash your hand with soap and water
Keep your smartphone off the table and set to silent or vibration
Eat and chew with your mouth closed: chew your food slowly and be careful
Don't talk with your mouth full of food: swallowed your food before speaking
Use of polite language: you have to use phrase like please, thank you and excuse me during meals
be respectful of others culture and traditions: be mindful of differences people cultural and traditions when dining with others people backgrounds.
Utensils Etiquette
Wait for everyone to receive the food before start eating
start eating your own food when the host or the person who invite you to start eating before you begin
avoid tapping or playing with your utensils during meals
holding your utensils correctly; hold your fork in your dominant hand and your knife in other hand with the blade facing inward. And the use of utensils in the correct order i.e use fork to pick up your food and knife to cut food then place it on the edge of your plate.
Following these table manners you'll be enjoy your meals with confidence and respect.
DO YOU THINK CHILDREN SHOULD BE TAUGHT TABLE MANNERS OR WAIT TILL THEY ARE GROWN BEFORE THEY CAN LEARN IT?
Teaching children table manners from young age will help them to develop essential social skills, confidence and respect for others.
Start teaching a child table manners when he/she is old enough to sit at the table.
Teaching a child table manners at early stages help him/her how to develop good habits that will last a lifetime.
A good table manners from children encouraged respect.
A good table manners boost children confidence and self esteem.
A parent have to set a good example for children to learn table manners which will help to create a positive dining atmosphere.
While teaching the children table manners, learn how to be patient, don't scolded or punish a child for the mistakes it will take him/her time to get it.
Use role playing, game and positive reinforcement to make a learning joyful one.
Encourage a child by praising him/her when exhibit positive behaviour during learning.
Table manners are very important as they provide an invaluable level of confidence for children.

The common challenges or tasks l face during table manners are:
To keep smartphone off during eating.
To wait for everyone to receive their food before l start eating is very challenging for me especially when am really hungry.
When enjoying a very delicious meal gave me challenges to chew my meals slowly and quietly.
IS IT BEST TO AVOID A MEAL ON THE MENU BECAUSE YOU CAN'T PRONOUNCE THE NAME? HAVE YOU EVER DONE IT?
I don't let pronunciation on menu to stop me from trying new favorite meals.
I will ask the server for recommendations that can I help me to choose the meal.
Many menu include description of the meal which will gave me an idea of what to expect.
I'm a open minded person which I will ask questions on differences kind of meals l see on menu and I will also like to try new food
