The Diary Game #53: Share your day with us!The Challenges of Parenting: When Your Child is Unwell
✨ Assalam o Alikum ✨ I hope you're all doing well. Every day brings new challenges and ups and downs, but we should always be grateful to God for this beautiful life.
Today was a bit strange. I woke up early, prayed Fajr, watered my plants, and made breakfast for the kids. Since it's Sunday, there's no school, but today was tough because my daughter Warisha wasn't feeling well.
She's been complaining of a headache since Saturday evening, and I thought she was just tired. But her condition worsened at night, and she had a high fever. We couldn't take her to the hospital because of the heavy rain, so we waited until morning.
We took her to the doctor at 9 am, but the child specialist wasn't available, so we had to consult a general physician. They prescribed some medicine, Even after taking the medicine, she didn't seem to be getting any better. Warisha wasn't eating or drinking anything.
I was worried seeing her condition, and my heart was racing. I made lunch, Today, I cooked rice and made some raita, salad ,along with a few other dishes."but she didn't want to eat. She finally asked for bread and egg fry, but only had two bites. My husband was also worried, and we were waiting for the child specialist to become available. I didn't feel like eating, but we had to stay strong for our kids.
I prayed Zohr and took care of my younger son. Warisha's fever got worse, and she was crying, saying her head hurt a lot. I tried to comfort her, and she finally relaxed a bit. I made a fresh apple juice for her, My husband and I really tried our best to get her to drink some juice."But she only took a few sips and couldn't drink more, She's been having trouble sleeping and waking up due to the pain.
Anyway, I rested for a bit and gave Warisha her medicine, then put her to sleep. We woke up at 5 pm, and first, I prayed Asar. Then, I made tea for everyone. We all had tea and talked about how Warisha woke up from her sleep with a slightly better fever, but she was still feeling very weak. Her brothers were playing football, and although she couldn't join them, she was happy to watch them play. Time passed like this. I cleaned the kitchen, tidied up the room, and ironed the kids' school clothes. Then, the rain started again, very heavily.
Then, after praying Maghrib, I started preparing dinner. For dinner, I made okra, and asked Warisha what she would like to eat. She said she would eat cake, so my husband brought her a plain cake. She eat a little bit of cake, but her fever had risen again. I quickly gave her medicine, changed her clothes, and put her to bed. We all had dinner together. Tomorrow, God willing, we will take Warisha to see the child specialist. God willing, my daughter will recover soon.
I appeal to all of you to pray for Warisha's health, seeing her condition is unbearable. May Allah keep all parents happy, may no child ever face illness or hardship. Being a parent, it's a huge challenge to see your child in pain. All children are the light of their parents' eyes. Ameen, sum ameen.
Stay happy, stay safe, keep smiling, and remember me in your prayers."
