Tell your story#30 "The Invisible Thread : Paperwork and the Human Connection"

Hi Steemit for Ladies Community!

I'm Ritchie Lumacad a.k.a @chingpherd, a passionate dental assistant. I'm excited to share my story, highlighting the precision, care and satisfaction that define my work.

WELCOME TO MY STORY!

As I clocked in for another day at Dr. Ana Solon-Augusto Dental Clinic, I couldn't help but feel a sense of purpose. Another day, another whirlwind at the dental office. As a dental assistant, my role extends far beyond just assisting the dentist. It's a balancing act of clinical skills and meticulous paperwork.

I am working as Dental Assistant since 2014 at Dr. Ana Solon-Augusto Dental Clinic located at 2nd Flr. Mactan Marina Mall, Ibo Lapulapu City, Cebu Philippines. I am almost 11 years in service and everyday is a learning.

The sterile scent of the dental office, the rhytmic hum of the suction, the gentle click of the instruments - these are the sounds of my workday. But beneath the surface, there's another rhythm, a quieter one: the rustling of paper, the tapping of keys, the careful recording and every interaction.

People often see dental assisting as a purely clinical role - assisting the dentist, preparing the operatory, ensuring patient comfort. And while these are undoubtedly crucial aspects of the job, there's a deeper layer, a layer often invisible to the casual observer. It's the layer of paperworks.

After the procedure, I organize charts and schedules. I reviewed patient's record, updating charts and verifying appointments. Accuracy and attention to detail were crucial. I double-checked:
  • Patient Histories
  • Treatment plans
  • Insurance Information
  • Appointment Schedules
For me, paperwork is more than just filling out forms. It's about weavering a narrative, a story of each patient's unique journey.

Paperwork, in its own way, connects us. It allows us to communicate with other healthcare providers, ensuring continuity of care. It helps us track progress, identify potential issues, and tailor treatment plans to individual needs. It's a thread weaves through the entire patient experience, a silent guardian of their health and well-being.

Sometimes amidst the whirlwind of appointments, and the constant pressure to keep up, the importance of this "invisible work" can be easily overlooked. But I've come to realize that it's an integral part of who I am as a dental assistant. It's about more than just fulfilling a job description; it's about honoring the human connection, about respecting the stories that unfold within these walls.

As I wrapped up my shift, I felt proud of my contribution. I left work knowing I'd made a difference. And as I leave the office each evening, the weight of these stories rests lightly on my shoulders. It's a reminder that even in a seemingly mundane act of filling out forms, I am playing a vital role in the lives of others.

My story is one of passion, perseverance and pride in dental assisting. I look forward to continuing my journey, shaping smiles and touching lives.

Thank you for reading my story! 😊

Yours Truly,

@chingpherd
