Weekly Contest; Power Up Challenge Week #5
Week 6 challenge have come and gone. Am super delighted to be among the winners. Yeah! It's week 7 already and we are expected to write on a topic different from the previous one. The questions here are very interesting because most of us doesn't know the difference between Steem and Steem power. As for me, I will say Steem is😜👇.
Steem and Steem power.
When we blog on Steem block chain, we are being rewarded with the native token known as Steem. In our Steemit wallet, Steem is the liquid one in the sense that, it can be easily transferred out from our wallet at any given moment within
a twinkle of an eye. It simply means that we can configured this liquid Steem to Steem power. How? A liquid Steem is like money in savings or current accounts. You can withdraw them anytime. But, Steem power has been locked up like fixed deposit. Yeah, once you misplaced your wallet keys, liquid Steem can be easily stolen, but Steem power will take a period of one week before it could drop.
Within this period, you can easily found out and cancel the power down. When we convert our steem to Steem power, it helps us to gain more influence on Steemit platform because, we support author's with votes and ain curation rewards. So, holding enough steem power in our wallet generates more income to us. So, when we lock up our steem, it's simply means Steem power.
Do I power up %100 of my Steem or do I keep some back., My reasons.
Before now, I don't power up %100 of my Steem because am using data to run my Steemit business. So, I gat to subscribe my phone in other to keep on blogging. Apart from that, I have other responsibilities am taking care of, so, once in a while, I do cash out to care for my needs and that of the family. While am working hard to establish myself aside Steemit, my power up will be %100 now.
How to aquire Steem to enable me to power up, 2 examples.
One way to acquire Steem is through participating in contest. Each contest organizer has amount of Steem he mapped out. So, once you won, liquid Steem will be transferred to your wallet. Another way is through up votes. Now, we received payout of Steem and Steem power including Tron. So, keep on posting in other to acquire enough steem power.
My power up process
As usual, I logged in to my wallet, click on the link behind my Steem and chose power up.
In the next page, I input the amount I needed to power up. Done doing that, I clicked on power up and letter confirmed it by clicking ok.
A total of 15.997 Steem was converted by Steem power.
