Today, I am going to engage in the contest topic Choices! What will it be? #74 by @patjewell and my selected word of the week is Freedom. As for me, freedom is the primary trademark of life, the opportunity to open one’s mouth and say or do whatever one wants without being afraid and to live as a woman should. It is not only the process of liberation, not only the possibility to escape the given patterns but to transform oneself and create a life, where one can develop, imagine, grow, and become who one wants to be. Today, I rejoice because I have the freedom that I deserve and because freedom is my strength.

freedom is one of the deepest and most absolute values known to mankind and not just the lack of confinement. It symbolizes freedom in decision-making, freedom of speech, and dealing with life on one’s terms. Liberty has several dimensions: social, political, individual, and economic; all of which help people to live worthwhile lives.

In a nutshell, freedom is the ability of an individual to act, to speak, or even to think without anyone putting a rein on them. It is a freedom that makes it possible for an individual to practice, achieve, and possess a belief, aim, or wish without getting into conflict with anyone or else being suppressed. Freedom entails privacy and the choice of how one’s body, life, and future are to be, besides the entitlement to learn, work, and vote. Thus, freedom becomes an individual’s power and opportunity to be themselves without any censure, limitation, or physical harm.

Freedom is one of the basic human rights that are essential for the achievement of individual and societal growth. This takes away the opportunity for human beings to realize their potential, express themselves, or enjoy whatever life they desire. It is needed for the following reasons:

🔹Self-Expression: Liberty empowers the freedom of speech where people can share their feelings, and ideas and come up with inventions and unique personalities.

🔹Equality and Justice: A free society gives everyone a leveled playing field to play in and this is the best way of upholding equality regardless of origin, gender, or color.

🔹Empowerment: Thus of all the rights, the right of choice is the most important as it allows people to take charge of their lives and determine the kind of life they would like to live.

Freedom has a profound societal meaning for women who are often denied basic rights and opportunities in society. To this day, women deal with such problems as gender-based violence and exclusion from the economy. For women, free is defined as having control over one’s life, one’s body, one’s work, and one’s children.

🔹Personal Autonomy: Education, having a career, and family planning are some needs that women should be able to have the right to choose without pressure from society which is very important for their healthy lives.

🔹Freedom from Violence: Protection from physical, emotional, and sexual violence is very important for Women’s security and self-security.

🔹Economic Independence: Economic independence brings independence to women on the financial level and provides an opportunity to earn their living or work, build a career, and make a contribution to society.

🔹Social Freedom: They should be able to dress, act, work, and play as they please without being judged or restricted furthering the issue of stereotyping.

🔹Political Freedom: The possibilities and efficiency of an idea must be based on the fact that women should be allowed to vote and make decisions as well as able to be successful.

Therefore, freedom is a basic human necessity that guarantees an efficient princess for an individual especially the female gender to lead a worthy, empowered, and respectable life. People can transform from being oppressed to being emancipated to be independent to enable them to make productive contributions to society.
