The Diary Game Contest#63: MTN did me dirty; A frustrating day resolving my broadband network issue.

Have you ever woken up and you are in so much high spirit and you told yourself that you are going to make so much out of the day?

With so great a resolve you said to yourself that you would just beeeze into MTN office, fix an issue quickly and return to the house to start up the work for the day only to be met with a different story?

That was the story of my life on 29/11/24. With so much zeal, I had carried out my daily morning routine and I decided that I was going to achieve so much for the day. Infact, it was all
Planned out in my head but my router was having a network issue.

I had just bought a new broadband device and I was anticipating to enjoy it only to be met with a rude shock. The device came with a welcome package of 50gig data and I was so happy. Men and brethren after my SIM registration, the data refused to work.

I tried all within my possible means, called the customer service over and again all to no avail. I took it to where it was registered and they asked to go to another branch. On getting to the branch, they directed me to another branch and so the frustration began.

When I finally got to the final branch, they had a line up of customers and I had to wait endlessly for my turn. What I thought would be fixed in matter of minutes took over five hours.

The painful part of these experiences was that the so called customer care agents were at a loss on what to do and while the data on the device isn’t working. They had to reset the device and also registered the SIM all to no avail.

I sat there hopelessly waiting for a solution. It was after hours of waiting and no solution that one of the staff reiterated that the broadband she also bought the free data didn’t work. She said she had to buy extra data in the device before it started working.

What have this people done, have I been scammed? How do you give bonus data when you don’t intend to let people use it. After all said and done, nothing worked. I was already developing a headache. I was tired and hungry. I was frustrated because I had to buy data worth #18,000 which is quivalent to 45 steem if steem was to be priced at #400.

Did you know that after I bought the data, it started working. So this was an organized scam by MTN. I felt disappointed but what can one do. I carried my self in my distraught state with a headache and began to make my way home.

I haven’t been frustrated in a long while like this. A day that was supposed to be fruitful turned into frustration. I came back home, took some pain killers, ate and went to sleep. I woke up by 11pm to work for some three hours before retiring again to rest. MTN did me dirty and I won’t forget that in a hurry.

Mtn and Airtel can be really frustrating my friend
I too have had a similar encounter. We just have to keep managing and hope for the best. Glad you could return home and rest

thanks for inviting me. I am so happy to read your diary that you describe your day so well but at the same time sad that the way you started your day with full of energy and ended in an analytical way.Sorry friend. You met peoples who take advantage of their jobs and scam people. Yes, it was bad they were given you free data but not even allowed to use it.it's happened to me so often, I've been the victim of a scam like this a couple of times, so I can understand how painful it must be to sit there and wait for so long your turn and then run from one place to another. It was quite a tiring day. I'm glad you came home, took your medicine and rest. I hope you in future you meet good people in the world.
