Volvo XC40 Recharge P8

in Planet Auto5 years ago

Volvo has been partnering with Polestar for many years - around 20 years or so, if memory serves.

Polestar have been showcasing some rather stylish and innovative EV's of late.

Now due to the push for EV's and cleaner fuels, it was only a matter of time til we saw a fully electric Crossover, which likely utilises some of this tech (or a derivative of it)

The XC40 Recharge P8 is the first full EV from Volvo, with 249 miles range WLTP on a single charge, and 80% in 40 mins on fast charge.

It uses a fully electric powertrain and develops 408bhp.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge P8 pulls 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds with a max torque of 660nm.

Type 2 charging at around 11kW 7.5 hours.

It is powered by an AWD electrical motor system which has a 78kW battery and features a motor on each axle.

The cost in the UK is to be around £53,000 and this SUV doesn't qualify for the grant.

Safety includes roll stability and regen braking.

We will likely drive this later this summer.
